You never were into dudes that much, it didn't mean you were lesbian, just that everyone was total assholes in the male department at your school or in Shadyside in general, although a few guys asked you out and you said no.
Mostly because they were not so nice people at all.
"Y/N, Prom is coming up, you better find a date and ASAP, your best friend, y/f/n said. You bit your lower lip, it had been over a year since everything happened, the memorial for Heather, Kate and Simon still was there and you always felt guilty, like you couldn't have saved your best friends.
"I know, but every dude is total assholes, f/n."
Nick Goode, the one behind it all, was dead, and that made things so much easier, as for now? You still were traumatized by it, considering you and Simon were a bit more than friends.
"I get it, y/n, you can't move on from Simon, but it's been over a year, f/n told you. You frowned, you did have your eyes set for Josh, Deena's brother, but you knew you were just a second choice to him, he had his eyes set for another girl.
You didn't know her name, and you didn't need to know.
"y/n, i have to go to class, see you later! F/N said. You nodded, holding your textbooks tightly. "Y/N! Josh greeted you, you two were pretty close since everything happened, although it was a lot harder to talk to him now for some reason.
After all, he loved Kate, so much, and you loved Simon, how could you ever move on from that? He smiled."Can we talk?" I nod, and we go to the library. He sat down and sighed."Y/n, i really like you, a lot."
Naturally, you leaned in when he did, but stopped yourself.
"Why did you stop?"
"Because i'm nothing more than a second choice to you."
