humans want to be loved despite their greatest sins and worst traits
so they wait for you to love them, and then they show you the ugly, praying to you, to receive a bit of love and acceptance
but sometimes the ugly doesn't deserve love
sometimes it harms others, sometimes it harms you
they say "i thought you loved me"
and you say "i didn't know you got off to children and women being beat. i didn't know you cheated on me. i didn't know you think my sexuality is for your pleasure. i didn't know you raped your last partner. i didn't know you cry to manipulate others. i loved you because i didn't know"
and they weep, reaching out, wanting what you can no longer give
because those who deserve distain will not receive love
and you deserve someone who will fill you with genuine love and respect
