I sit alone, an empty room.
Lost in thoughts of hopeless doom.
What is lost that I must find?
My heart, my soul, my broken mind.
If I could take away your pain,
Standing outside in the pouring rain,
I would without a single thought,
But I'd run away before I got caught.
If I could take your breath away,
I'd do it every single day.
I'd give my everything to see you smile,
To make you laugh, I'd go the extra mile.
To see you safe, I must never reveal
My emotions, the way I feel.
Because if you knew the beast inside,
Not just the body in which it resides,
You'd run away, towards the light.
Leave me alone within the night.
And I'd you watch run and smile,
Knowing you're safe, if for a while.
I will follow, in the shadows, unseen.
Through hellfire and the fields of green
I'd do it all, without hesitation.
Because in your eyes, I find salvation.
