Steffy

"Who is that now?" Liam asks rolling his eyes as he gets up from his seat. "It's not a good time."

"It's probably your Dad," Steffy says as she stands up from her chair too. "He's probably concerned that I'm still here and haven't given him an update on what is going on. You know how your father is."

"My Dad?"

"Liam, open up!" I hear outside the door. "Open up, now." The pounding continues, I know that he is serious. "I mean it, Liam. Open up now, or I will kick this door in. I don't care."

"Better do as he says," I say. "You know he's not kidding."

I roll my eyes while walking over to the door. "Unfortunately, I know it all too well."

"Liam!"

"Dad," I say as I open the door to him. "Hi."

"About time you answered," he says walking in the room.

Liam closes the door and walks over to him, watching as he eyes me. I am sure many thoughts are going through his mind when he sees my attire.

"Liam, what? What is going on? What are you doing? Are you insane? You better start talking right now," he demands pointing his finger at me. "You better have a good reason for leaving your family, without a word."

Bill looks again over at me again. "And Steffy what in the world are you wearing? Why do you look so disheveled?"

I blush in slight embarrassment.

Bill waves his arms up in the air, putting two and two together. "You know what? Never mind, I don't want to know.

I'm at a loss, I don't even know what to say to him.

"It's a long story and it's complicated," Liam finally says.

"Well, I have all day, so start explaining. I'll decide if it's complicated or not."

Bill comes on strong and continues to badger Liam and ask him so many repeated questions, trying to get the answers he's looking for.

"Dad, I don't know what else you want me to say?" Liam question as I finish telling him the basics of what I told Steffy. "It's what had to be done."

"What do you mean it's what had to be done. I mean honestly, are you even hearing yourself? I want you to say you are going to come home. Stop this madness Liam, and come home," he demands walking in my general direction. "Stop worrying about the MS, we will get you all the help you need. I will fly the best doctors in the world to L.A. I will find the best neurologist that specifically deals with M.S. You are being a coward by staying here and not taking this like a man. Spencers are strong and can deal with anything that is thrown their way, including this."

"Dad—"

"I want you to come home. No, I change my mind. You are coming home. You are coming home if I have to drag you by your hand or pick you up.. This is not up for discussion! Let's go," he says. "If you want to act like a child, I will certainly treat you like one. You are acting like a spoiled child."

"Bill," Steffy says finally speaking up after several minutes. "That isn't helping anything."

"Dad, my mind is made up. I am not coming home. Like I told Steffy, you can't just pick me up and throw me over your shoulder. It doesn't work like that. This is my decision, and I am going to see it through. This is my life; this is where I need to be. I am sorry that I am disappointing you, but that is how it is. You guys would be better off without me, especially Steffy. This is no one's burden but mine."
