The car came to a screeching halt in front of a small complex of buildings. It didn't exactly look like the kind of place a doctor would be, but Ryan followed Ricky regardless. Shane had started to stir but he still wasn't saying anything. Ricky and Ryan helped him walk down the cobbled path, water splashing behind them with each step as the streets were almost flooding.

There were dozens of eyes on them as they made their way to one I the dilapidated units and some of the people whispered things under their breath. Ryan attempted to ignore them, but the pure hatred in their eyes was difficult to overlook. people leaned out their windows to get a better look at the spectacle that was the trio. Ghosts didn't take kindly to demons stepping on their territory, especially not high levels like Shane and Ricky.

"Here" Ricky said, stopping in front of a yellowing door. He left Shane to Ryan went to knock on the door.

"Get out of here, demon scum!" One brave soul yelled from across the parking lot. Ryan looked back at them for a second, but kept one arm around Shane to steady him. The man who was yelling quickly retreated back into his apartment, unwilling to wait for the consequences of his actions.

"Ignore them" Shane breathed out through the pain. Ryan held Shane closer and hushed him. Now wasn't the time to be worrying about them. Ricky shot a glare in the direction of the voice but quickly returned to banging on the worn-down door.

A woman with long greying hair opened the door by just a crack, her dull blue eye peering through the small slit. From the small view the three had of her, you could see she was tired. Her bony hands snaked around the yellowed door in preparation to shut it again. She looked to be in her 70's and had an ominous aura about her. Ryan ignored the chill that shot down his spine.

"What are you doing here?" she asked with a stern tone. Her face scrunched up in disgust as if she smelled something putrid. From the look in her eyes, Ryan guess she knew Ricky pretty well.

"Shane needs help, now" He demanded, putting his hand on the door and forcing it to open wider to reveal her small frame. She looked frail and withered, a single gust of wind could blow her away. The storm was still raging behind them, soaking their clothes completely. This woman showed no compassion and tried to shut the door once again.

"I told you, I'd be over later today" She said, feverishly pulling on the door. She made no progress as Ricky had a firm grip on the frame.

"Listen to me carefully," Ricky said, his tone becoming more ice-cold than ever, Ryan couldn't believe he could be even more detached. "You're going to let us in, you're going to treat Shane, and you're going to tell me what's wrong with him"

"and why would I do that?" She asked with a look of disgust on her face still. She was much shorter than Ricky and thinner in stature but looked up with burning rage that made her presence much more intimidating.

"Because you don't want to find out what happens if you don't"

"Ricky..." Shane tried to talk some sense into him but was too weak. The woman begrudgingly opened the creaky door and allowed for them to enter.

They entered the small unit quickly, Ryan especially thankful to be out of the downpour. The woman watched them with great disdain and lead to a room down a short hallway.

"Put him down in here" She instructed, pointing towards a small room. Ryan nodded gratefully and set Shane down on the bed as gently as he could. Shane winced in pain as he sunk into the twin-sized mattress.

"I'm sorry" Ryan said quickly, retracting his arms from Shane's body. water dripped down from his hair and onto Shane's soaking clothes. Shane weakly ran his fingers through Ryan's hair.
