today was supposed to be in the high forties, hip-hip-hooray.

that is– if we were lucky.

the morning had passed in a blur. not much had happened besides me debating on skipping my classes or not. and unfortunately to my liking, i chose not to.

as i entered the cafeteria, i was hoping to see katsuki's face, to see if he had gone back to the cold, indifferent person that i had known for the last month in a half. so i couldn't help but feel disappointed as i looked over towards katsuki's table. the rest of them were there, but unfortunately, he wasn't. where had he gone? by now i had at least thought that he was done playing this silly little game.

all i wanted to do in this very moment was sit down and sulk. but with the luck i had, obviously, that didn't happen.

as i treaded over to the lunch table, i could see that the small group of friend i'd made were in a very heated discussion. about what, you may ask? i don't know, nor care enough to find out about it.

the first person i noticed sitting at the table was ochako, so i gave her a small smile as i dropped my bag to the floor and plopped myself in the seat right next to her.

"la push, baby– you in?" mina giggled.

i laughed at her giddiness "should i know what that means?".

"la push beach. it's on the quileute rez" inasa happily added, "we're all going after school. there's a big swell coming in".

"and i don't just happen to surf the internet" mina stood up from her chair, moving her arms back and forth, mimicking what surfers do.

"mina, you stood up once, and it was a foam board". tsu was quick to add.

ochako shoved my shoulder lightly with her own. "there's also whale watching. you should come with us. i think you'd like it".

"la push, baby. it's la push".

i couldn't help but giggle at her. "i'll go if you stop saying that, alright mina".

"seriously, mina– it's creepy".

"but that's what it's called!" she sighed, and then continued to look around the cafeteria. and then her eyebrows perked. "huh, you really do have an admirer– don't you, shoto?".

she didn't have to say anymore, because i already knew who she was talking about. my head instinctively snapped up towards his table once more.. but he wasn't there? i looked all over the lunch room to pinpoint where he was. and alas, there he was, standing all alone near the student buffet. once he was in my line of vision, he raised one hand and motioned for me with his index to join him.

she laughed as inasa 'discreetly' rolled his eyes. "go on, pretty boy. go see what blondie wants".

"mina–" i warned.

"oh hush! i expect details later" she winked.

and with that, i removed myself from my seat and slowly made my way to were katsuki was, but not without multiple pairs of eyes staring after me as i walked away.

honestly, it was strange that someone so beautiful could be real. after every single glance i took, it was as if i could feel my breath being taken away from me. i was certain that one day he might disappear in a sudden puff of smoke, and i would wake up from whatever kind of dream i was experiencing.

"half n' half". he greeted with what seemed like a tight lipped smirk. "i think y'er friends are upset with me for stealing you. not that i care or anything".
