Chapter 14

Zoey's P.O.V

I woke up the next morning, extremely tired. I'm pretty sure I just dreamt that Calum had asked for my number and that I gave it to him and I said bye without calling him an asshole.

Yeah, that has to be a dream, why I would give Calum my number?

But then I checked my phone.

I'm such an idiot.

4 texts messages

Dawn...the stupid bitch (a.k.a. Bestie)

I was going to send your number to Calum but looks like you already gave it to him

See? This whole thing is going to be great.

Yeah right. I was just really tired. What would posses me to give him my number? I wouldn't unless I didn't know what the hell I was doing.

I'm forced to pick u up so be ready soon

To: Asshole

I'm gonna walk to school so I don't need a ride

As soon as I was off my bed and about to step into my bathroom my phone vibrates.

From: Asshole

No can do. Luke and Dawn texted me saying I have to.

To: Asshole

I will deal when with them later. I'm gonna walk to school.

From: Asshole

Whatever you say diva

To: Asshole

Not a diva. I'm a queen

From: Asshole

Queen of what planet, Planet No One cares about?

To: Asshole

Shut up, you dick.

And I left it like that. I walked away from my phone and went to get ready. Walking to school isn't new to me. Last year Zeke and I used to walk to school almost every day. I would walk to his house since he always tries to finish his homework in the morning, then we would to school and when we were about 5 blocks away we would race to see who is faster at running. It was same routine every week the whole year. One week I would win the next Zeke. And the two same annoying teacher would always yell at us and tell our coach and the coach would always roll his eye when the teacher complain because he actually thought it wasn't a bad idea to do friendly race every morning,because it was good for practice.

After I finished getting ready I went downstairs and saw that my mother had left a note saying that she had some work to take care of and would be back for dinner. I crumble the note up and grabbed a water bottle from the fridge and headed out the door.

The walk to Zeke's house wasn't far only 5 minutes. When I got there I was surprised to see Zeke outside.

But he wasn't just outside.

He was outside working on his car...Shirtless.

Not going to lie this was the best thing I saw today.

"You know we have school today, right?" I said from behind him.

"You know he is an asshole." I sighed and dropped my bag and walked up next to him.

"I know that's not why you are mad are me." I said watching him work on his car. He was covered in sweat and had oil grease on his hand and his face.

He looked up at me but didn't say anything but roll his eyes.

"Zeke, come on. Talk to me." I begged.

"Why? You're not going to listen to me anyways." He said as he walked away so he can get different tools.

"Because you're my best friend and I know that him being an asshole isn't the real reason why you are mad at me." He stayed quiet. "Zeke,"

He dropped everything that he was holding and walked up to me and left very little space between us. I didn't bother taking a step back.

"You want to know why I am mad. Then fine I will tell you. I'm mad because out of everyone Dawn picked him. He doesn't know how lucky he is! I have been waiting for so long to be in his place, but no I had to be a baby and let you be with whoever you wanted to be with when in reality it hurts seeing you with others."

I was about to interrupt but then he stop me by putting his finger up. "Calum has no clue how lucky he is to be able to call you his girlfriend. And it makes me sick knowing that he won't make you as happy like I would. I'm mad because I can't be with you." He says.

I look at my feet not knowing what to say. I knew the rumors weren't just rumors and Zeke did feel something for me. But I didn't know it was going to be like this.

I felt his fingers on my chin and he gently lifts it up so that I was looking at him. I look into his dark brown eyes still quiet. I didn't know what to say.

"You wanted me to talk, so I did. Now say something, please."

But I couldn't say anything, so I stood there being the idiot I am and shook my head unsure of what to say until Zeke made a move.

He leaned his head closer to me and soon our lips met. It didn't feel strange at all, in fact it felt perfect. His lips were soft and gentle. At first I didn't respond but when his lip were about to move away I moved my hand to the back of his neck and kept it in place to kiss him back. He responded quickly and kissed back. Butterflies filled my stomach but ignore them and got lost in the perfect kiss. I felt his tongue asking for entrance, but I denied. Less than seconds of being denied entry he bite my lip, knowing this would cause me to allow him in, and it worked. We somehow manage to move so that my back was against his car. But before things went further we pulled away and he rested his forehead on mine. Our chest rose and fell, we were breathless.

My best friend just kissed me.

And I like every minute of it.

"I should probably finish up so we could..." He stuttered. I nodded trying to keep the tiny smile on my face hidden. He went to finish his car while I blushed like a weirdo.

Because I think my feelings for Zeke were back. And that I was falling for him again.

Guess who back? I'm so sorry I don't think I ever made you guys wait a month for an update. A shorter chapter than I normally post because I just really wanted to update the story. You guys are probably confused about what happened in the last chapter because last time i updated was a month ago. Well basically Calum and Zoey kind of sorta bonded and we met Calum's annoying clingy ex girlfriend that Calum wants to make jealous and at the end Zoey didn't call him an asshole and she gave him, her number when Calum drop her off at her house(Which btw is kind of like a mansion). That's it really. I'm sorry I didn't update sooner. I was going to but then I didn't sorry. Hope you guys like it! Make sure to comment because then I update faster. Also vote too.
