october of 1890.

a girl in a flowing floral dress marched her way to a shop that had a wooden signage on top written in black, bold capital letters, 'DOLLS FOR SALE'.

from a passer-by's perspective, she looked like a normal woman about to buy a toy for her child or for a relative.

although, when the girl opened the door of the shop, the bells by the door softly clanking and brushing against each other, she had a look around the shop and went straight to the counter in front of the store.

"hi, i'm l/n y/n. i was the one who wrote a letter to you about a bisque doll. i'm here for my order," she said, trying to keep calm.

although, her heart was racing fast and her hands were trembling, the excitement on her face was evident even with how much she tried to contain a smile.

the guy that was organizing the shelves on front turned around, meeting y/n's gaze. his face brightened to see her prescence as he widely smiled at her, "oh! i see. let me get your doll real quick," he kindly said to her, putting down the duster he had on his hand.

y/n silenced as she scanned the face of the guy as he carefully rummaged through the shelves on the other side of the shop. she always thought that the person behind the neat and perfumed letters was someone middle aged, but she didn't expect a young man around her age tending this kind of shop by his own.

she snapped back out of her thoughts when he approached her holding a large box. the plastic window of the box revealed a porcelain doll with braided blonde hair and green eyes, wearing a detailed blue dress and red shoes.

the face was almost realistic much so that it could be frightening to most people. but to y/n's defense, this feature makes dolls like this more unique to her eyes.

her excitement went off the roof as she sighs of relief. "thank you very much. she's one of the dolls i need to finish my collection," she thanked while hugging the box close go her.

the young man laughed and simply shook his head, "that's great to hear. it's always a pleasant feeling to finally complete a collection," he smiled at her.

"would you like to pay full now or pay a small downpayment?"

"i'd like to pay now," y/n smiled as she placed the box on top of the counter to get her purse. she opened up her purse and took the bills that she had prepared in advance.
