is it normal to have people you just… dislike?

for no random reason, seeing them triggers a kick in your system to automatically roll your eyes, or just send an instant fight-or-flight to your internal processing system.

call her a bitch, a judgemental person, or maybe a bitchy-bitch—but she has a person she disliked. and that person never did anything to her, per se. she just naturally disliked him as if it was a part of her.

that person was no other than kim—okay, good looking, prince, fine, smart, genius, talented—doyoung.

"good afternoon, princess. how princess like of you to be twenty minutes late for practice?" he said, bowing politely like a butler upon her arrival at the gymnasium. with his greetings, her entrance felt more formal as she wore her most basic training attire with her duffel bag on her shoulders.

"oh jolly joy! a splendid afternoon to you servant kim, or may i say peasant kim? and i assume i had informed everyone that i had academic duties to fulfill that led to my tardiness."

he flashed her a warm smile, "you flatter me, princess l/n who used to shat her pants in first grade and cried when the most douchey dude i've met rejected her. i'm sure servant kim is well enough."

"he was not a douchebag. and i did not shat my pants, for your information."

"princess l/n, it's been five years. are you still defending him? i did not take the future oriented princess to be stuck in the past?"

she rolled her eyes, already done with the semi roleplay or their semi bickering. the other girls were already practicing their services one by one. y/n started stretching in the corner while doyoung followed her steps from behind.

"what is is it?" she asked, irritated as she saw his towering shadow in front of her as she did basic stretches in her arms.

"two practice matches later. can you play?" his voice grew serious, a more professional tone. as their volleyball team's manager since freshman year, the two of them make a tangible line between them and their club.

moreover, y/n still questioned his purpose of joining to this day. they were classmates since elementary days; and while she had obvious interest in the sport, having competed and being a part of school teams since they were young, doyoung was not. he simply was just a top student whom she clashes with for no reason as well.

"of course i can," she answered while twisting her trunk sideways.

"you know what i mean."

her right ankle has been hurting since last week. only doyoung knew. and she didn't even tell him, which was the maddening part. doyoung saw her face of discomfort while massaging her ankle after evening practices and bothered her continuously into admitting.
