Hastinapur was decorated like a new bride. Today the princes after completing their training in Guru Dron's Ashram would showcase their strength in front of the entire Hastinaour.Kaustav and Priyamvada very cleverly used their network to spread many propaganda about the Devputra Pandavas, like how good they were in every field, how strong and excellent they were in weaponry, Vedas, Shastras. They were the epitome of good human characteristics. But nothing was said about the four Kaurava brothers. They were already labeled as evils so what good they could do?

Before the Kalapradarshan all citizens were excited to see the Devputra's skill.

Citizen 1, 'The Pandavas will show the Aryavart today that how strong they are and how lucky Hastinapur is to have such Devputras as princes.'

Citizen 2, 'Why the four Kaurava brothers even competing with them? They should accept defeat. Atleast it will save them from being humiliated in front of us.'

Citizen 3, 'Shhh, after all they are the sons of our king, don't say it loud.'

But this kind of talk was also happening among palace Das and Dasi's as well. Hearing that all Kauravas were sad but Duryodhana before the Kalapradarshan said to his brothers, 'Look, the people have no expectations from us, so we have no pressure. If we can give our best then at least we can show that may we be normal humans but still we can fight against the Devputras. So don't lose hope and fight. It's a question of our parent's honor.'

Bheesm welcomed all the honorable guests. To show off their strength they invited the kings and their families to Hastinpur. Among them were Kunti's childhood friend and queen of Vidharva Sulochana and her daughters were also present. After a long time both the friends met and Sulochona also had a hidden motive to come to Hastinapur. She wanted her daughters to marry any two of the Pandava princes. It would be good for the reputation of the Vidharva Royal family. All the princes entered the arena with great pomp and splendor. The citizens were cheering for the Princes. Kunti sat beside Gandhari and was describing the entire scenario. Gandhari was overwhelmed to know about her sons but was sad as everyone was praising the Pandavs. Her niece Dusshala was also present with her. Dusshala was the daughter of her late brother Shakuni. After her sons were born, when Gandhar came to know that HP elders were planning to kill her sons, Gandhari's brothers revolted. To stop the rebellion Bheesm attacked Gandhar and killed all her family. At that time Shakuni's wife Arshi was pregnant. She could not bear the death of her family, so she died after giving birth to Dusshala. Gandhari though herself was heartbroken due to the loss but took the newborn as her own daughter.

Among them Dronacharya announced the kalapradarshan and stated the rules. As it was a friendly match so no one should draw their opponent's blood. He and all the warriors as per custom first offer their prayer to Tridev, Tridevis and then to Lord Vasusen as most of the Kshtriya family worshipped him to get his blessings during the war. Then Bheesm announced the beginning of the fight. Drona was very confident that today the Panduputras would win and make him proud. During the training, he trained the Kaurav brothers as well but he always had his main attention of the Pandavas. It was true that the Pandavas were very talented but Drona had some other intentions. According to the rule, both Yudhistir and Suyodhana had rights to the throne but he knew that royal politics were not so simple. Kunti was the daughter of both Kuntibhoj and Dwarka and she had the support of both the kingdoms. Her sons were also Devputras. So if her eldest became the king, he would not only get the political support of Yadavs and Kuntibhoj but also the common citizen would be loyal to the king who was born from a Dev. So he showed his loyalty to someone who had a better chance to be the king. But his son Aswatthama's attitude irked him. He wanted his family to be close to the would-be king so that in the future Aswatthama could get a good position in the royal court. But much to his dismay, his family was closer to the Kauravas. In fact, Aswatthama became Suyodhana's best friend and both his wife and daughter also loved the Kauravas more. Drona thought that after this Kalapradarshan he would talk to his son to choose his side wisely.
