Indraprastha

The Pandavas were in trouble. When they came into the kingdom, they decided that after making the necessary arrangements, they could appoint some of the upper-class people as ministers, diplomats, and officials and would run the kingdom smoothly. Though Yudi and Sahadev were well versed in administrative staff but they had no practical experience, so they decided that first they would have some senior ministers and then together they would arrange everything. Other three brothers were also looking at the other departments. They had good teachers to teach the schools and soldiers to defend the kingdom. But the thing that was bothering them was the small businessmen and workers. At first, due to Vidur's propaganda, many people from HP came to Indraprastha. At first they were highly impressed after seeing the magical kingdom but after a few days, they realized that the king had no sympathy or love for the Vaishyas or Shudra. Even for Vaishyas, he only respected those who were very rich, but those who are small businessmen or workers were treated like trash. There was no law to protect them, all the upper-class people and rich businessmen were continuously exploiting them and if they tried to complain to the king, they themselves were punished for going against Dharma. The punishments were unnecessarily harsh for the lower class people while Brahmins and Kshatriyas were only given small penalties like fines or a few days' suspension. While the lower class people were given brutal death sentences.

Once a poor man did some puja in his home for his sick wife. After the puja, the priest asked for more money and that poor man had nothing left to give him. The priest complained to the king saying that the man insulted him and without even listening to that man's side of the story or any other evidence, prince Bheem brutally beat that man and he died due to the injury. The Brhamins also ordered to enslave the man's widow and son so that they could repent for the man's sin. All these incidents terrorized the poor citizens and most of them secretly left Indraprastha. Many of them left HP but some of them went to Anga and there they saw a completely different story. The curse of Devi Vindyavasin was also coming into action. After the disappearance of the entire forest, Pandavas used it to make a huge temple complex. They called several renowned sages but to their astonishment, many renowned sages like sage Viswamitra, sage Bashista, Maharishi Bhrigu, Rishi Parashar etc, even sage VedVyas, all declined their invitations. Many sages came to stay on the temple and gurukul complex but they were mostly the sycophants whose main goal was to extract money from the king. 

The most inauspicious incident happened on the day of the inauguration of the temple complex. Hearing the sages suggestion, the Pandavas established a temple of Devi Vindyavasiini made of pure gold to lift the curse. They forced the lower class people to donate gold. But during the inaugural ceremony, the entire temple turned black and the idols of Devi Vindyavasini, Dev Ganesha, Kartikeya, Tridevs and Tridevis broke by themselves. Seeing these many sages just left as they understood that the Gods and Goddesses were angry. After that Idraprastha was continuously suffering from natural disasters like lack of rain and drought, the lands started becoming infertile, and the ponds and lakes dried up. 

Anga,

Anga was also prospering.  With the help of the local tribals as well as Karna and Shakuni, Duryodhana and his brothers made the kingdom truly magical. Mayadanav and his team taught the local people and together one of the most beautiful kingdoms was made. The most miraculous thing happened when Devi Vindhyavasini blessed the Kauravas. Once the kingdom needed many woods. So the danavas went to cut the small forest near the border and hearing Krishna's advice Dury prayed to the Goddess of trees first. Suddenly they heard a voice, 'Halt prince, why do you want to cut the trees? Don't you know trees are the ones which give lives?'

Dury was shocked but said, 'I am very Devi but I am helpless. We need woods to make houses and other things also for fuels. But look we brought many small saplings, once we cut a tree, we will plant another one to maintain the balance of nature.'
