Kaden.

He's here. He's standing in front of me, and all I can think about is how I asked the world to make him appear in front of me right now. And here he is. Well, at least there is someone here.

This could be a mere coincidence. And even though I'm pretty sure it is, I can't stop the little flutter in my chest. What if this is my sign?

"Rosie, is that you?" he asks, his voice pulling me back to reality.

"Yes, it's me." I merely say, staring at him with eyes filled with wonder. He smiles, those dimples appearing in his cheeks as he does.

"I knew it. I usually recognize people by their voices, and so when I heard yours, I knew," he says, his eyes glimmering underneath the street light. "But, why were you calling yourself stupid? Did something happen?"

Yes, something did happen. But I'm not about to say that.

"No. I just...never mind. It's nothing," I shrug, closing the distance between us. "What are you doing here?"

"I was just taking a night stroll. It's great weather that I can't just miss." he says, his smile unwavering.

"I feel the same way." I say, turning to stare at the ocean. The ocean waves make the wind stronger around these parts, but I don't mind it. I breathe in the fresh air, my eyes fluttering close.

When I open my eyes, I notice Kaden staring at me. He hasn't stopped. It's only now that I realise that he probably wants to look at the ocean, but is unsure of the direction.

"It's this way." I say, grabbing onto his arm gently to turn his body so that he is now facing the ocean. He doesn't say anything, leaving me unsure if this is really what he wanted.

I'm not sure how long we stand here, a comfortable silence surrounding us, the only sound coming from the ocean and the wind.

It feels so peaceful here, something I haven't quite gotten used to yet. I don't miss the noise from the city, but I'm not used to all this quietness yet. It still feels strange. I still find myself waiting to hear a car beeping, or to see a car pileup.

"Kaden." I find myself saying.

"What is it?"

"I don't know." I sheepishly say, sighing.

He doesn't respond immediately, taking a moment to think I presume.

"Do you want to do something fun?" he suddenly suggests after a significant amount of time has passed, making me turn to him.

"Like what?"

"I'm not exactly sure. We can stay up all night if you want. We can binge watch movies all night, and eat some good food and snacks too." he suggests, turning to me.

I'm not sure about that. Isn't that a little insensitive considering the fact that he's blind and won't be able to watch the movie? I understand that he's trying to be considerate and think of things that I might enjoy doing, but he needs to let me do that too.

"Or we could just talk," I suggest, my eyes lighting up. "I've never stayed up all night talking with someone before, so I guess it'll be nice for a change."

"Alright then. But we have to go and buy snacks. I'm a little ashamed to say that there is nothing in my cupboards." he admits, his cheeks flushing as his gaze moves down to the ground.

He blushes a lot. I've noticed this. Even though this is only the second time we've met, he's already blushed so much, more than anyone else I've ever seen.
