I'm excited.

We are going to butterfly world today, and I can't wait. I feel so happy, because even though my birthday was yesterday and is over now, my dad still wants to spoil me.

I really have the best dad in the world. The universe must have made him my dad so that I wouldn't have to feel the absence of my mother too badly.

When we arrive at butterfly world, I'm jumping in my spot in the queue, wanting to run inside already, but my dad holds my hand firmly in his, preventing me from going anywhere. I won't run though. I'm smart, and I don't want to get my dad into trouble.

"Little rose, are you excited to be here?" my dad asks, staring down at me. I nod, a wide smile painted on my face. I'm more than excited, but I don't know any other word of how to describe how I'm feeling right now.

"Rose?" I hear a voice call out, and I can practically feel the shock of this person. Turning around, I'm surprised when I see a pair of deep blue eyes staring right into mine.

"Kaden?" I whisper, surprised to see him. I didn't think that I would ever see him again after yesterday.

He smiles, a toothy grin appearing on his face as he runs to me. He looks happy to see me, and even though I practically saved him yesterday, I can't understand why.

"I thought that I would never see you again." he breathes out, his eyes lighting up.

"Who is this, little rose?" I hear my dad ask.

"Hello sir. My name is Kaden. I met Rose yesterday when she saved me from bullies." he introduces, not shyness in him whatsoever. How can he be so confident towards a complete stranger?

"Did she?" my dad says rather than asks, staring down at me with curious eyes. I merely give him a toothy grin in response to his look.

"Are you also here to visit butterfly world, Kaden?" my dad asks and Kaden nods, his smile remaining as wide as it was when I first saw him. Doesn't he get tired of smiling the entire time?

"Yes sir. My parents are over there." he answers, pointing to a young couple standing at the back of the line. They wave at us, and I smile, waving back at them.

"Well then, since you two are both here, why don't you hang out together here?" my dad suggests, and my eyes widen, wanting to spend my time here with my dad, but Kaden nods, smiling widely at my dad. Well, I guess if he really wants to, then I guess I don't mind. I guess I can spend time with him since I'll be spending the rest of my time in the city with my dad.

I shouldn't be so antisocial, that's what my dad's encouraging look tells me. And I guess he's right.

"Sure, let's hang out, Kaden," I say, holding my hand out to him. He gulps, his wide eyes staring down at my hand. He looks hesitant in taking it, glancing briefly at his parents, as if he's asking them for permission. "Come on. My arm is getting tired."

He quickly grabs my hand, as if he fears that I'll change my mind. His hesitant eyes look up at me, wide and big, and then a red tint appears on his cheeks.

He's blushing.

"Let's go." my dad says, pulling us out of the moment and making me realize that we are already at the front of the queue. Kaden's parents shout out to him that they will meet us inside as my dad pays before we entire butterfly world.

The moment we enter, the first thing I hear is Kaden's excited little gasp. And then I notice all the greenery around us. It's almost as if we are inside a greenhouse, various types of plants all around us.

There's a little pond on the side, the water looking clear with plants growing beside and inside it. I'm curious to see if there are any fish living in there.
