Nerves bubble in my stomach.

I'm standing before Kaden's home, his own private home where he used to stay in years ago. Somehow, this feels very private, and I feel as though I'm intruding on a personal space of his. It's probably because he himself hasn't been here in years, and this is his first time back here find becoming blind.

Yet, he's so welcoming. He makes it feel as though I'm welcome, and as though he really wants me here.

Kaden types in the password before a beeping sound goes off and he pushes the door open.

"After you," he says and for a second, I hesitate in stepping inside his home. Why do I suddenly feel like I'm intruding? "Rosie, it's okay."

My chest feels lighter almost immediately after he says those words. He always knew what I was feeling, even when he was blind.

Taking a deep breath, I walk into the luxurious apartment, Kaden entering after me and closing the door behind him.

"This place is amazing." I breathe, and it is. When we enter, there is a perfectly sized kitchen with a marble kitchen island and counter, and then deeper in is the living room, with grey cotton couches in the center, teal plush cushions laid neatly on top of them and a small low cut table separating the furniture from the television which sits on top of a built-in fireplace.

At thd very end, there's a sliding door that leads to a balcony that shows off the view of the entire city. It's really perfect.

"It didn't always looks like this," he says, pulling me out of my thoughts. "They did a lot of renovations which I allowed them to do as long as the place was still mine afterwards."

"Is this your first time seeing the place renovated?" I ask and he nods, stuffing his hands into his pants pockets.

"This place feels a little foreign to me, but the layout hasn't changed much, so I can still see the memories I made here."

"That's great," I say. And then a thought crosses my mind and I rush over to him. "Where's your room? I want to see it."

"If you're hoping to see my childhood bedroom, I'm sorry to disappoint you because they changed everything when they renovated." he tells me, regret flashing in his eyes.

"And you were okay with them changing everything about your bedroom?" I ask and he nods, pursing his lips.

"I didn't think that I would ever get back. Before we met, I was actually planning on renting this place out." he says and I sigh, resting my forehead on his chest.

What a pity. I was hoping to see something belonging to his childhood, something that would remind me of the person he was ten years ago.

"I'm sorry, Rosie. But, we can still check out their renovations, if you want to?" he suggests, and even though I'm disappointed, I lift my head and I nod, smiling up at him.

He removes his one hand from his pockets and grabs mine with it before leading us to thd bedroom. I notice that there are two bedrooms in this apartment, adjacent to one another along with one bathroom.

His bedroom is simple, with dark blue coloured walls, and a bed with a grey duvet pulled over it is pushed against the wall. Although the decor isn't that of a little child's, the way its laid out and the size of it is perfect for a child.

"I'm taking it you won't be using this bedroom?" I ask, twisting around to face him.

"Perhaps," he shrugs, turning away and walking to the other bedroom. This must be his late parents' bedroom. It's much bigger than his, but the setup and colour is similar, except this one has an ensuite. "I guess my old bedroom would be too small for me now."
