I'm excited.

It's been three weeks since I have seen Kaden. I'm not sure why, but after the surgery, the hospital decided to keep him from having visitors. Something about how he's extremely sensitive, and how he may react badly towards any external stimuli.

And so even though it's been hard and I've missed him so much, I beared with it, knowing that it's the best thing for him. And finally, today, three weeks later after his successful surgery, he's being discharged.

I can hardly contain my excitement as I skip to the hospital. Having to go through three whole weeks without a single word from him was beyond torturing, and now that I'm able to see him, I'm going to smother him in hugs, kisses and affections.

When I reach the ward, I pull my phone out of my pocket and dial his number. "I'm here."

Almost immediately, the ward doors slide open and Kaden comes walking out. I can instantly notice a change in him. He seems more alert, but also more free and more peaceful. It looks as though he has finally let go of his restraints, and I can't be more happy for him.

"Where are you?" he asks into the call and a smile appears on my face. I lift my arm to wave at him, but just as I do, he walks right past me.

The smile on my face falls.

That's right. He has no idea what I look like. I didn't think that it was going to bother me, but seeing him walk right past me like I'm no one to him hurts.

"Rosie?" I hear him call out through the call. Snapping back to reality, I feel my heart clenching in my chest.

"Actually, something had come up. I'm not at the hospital. Sorry." is all I say before hanging up. However just as I turn to walk away, I feel arms wrap around me from behind.

I gasp in surprise.

"You think I wouldn't recognize you?" I hear Kaden say, my breath hitching in my throat.

He knows its me.

Turning around in his arms, I stare up at him with glistening eyes. "You...you know who I am?"

He nods, wiping away a tear that has fallen from my eye. "And you're even more beautiful that I thought you were."

Reaching up, I caress his face with my fingers, barely being able to believe that he can actually see me right now.

"I missed you." I breathe, tears filling my eyes. He places his hand on top of mine, squeezing.

"I missed you too," he breathes out. "So much."

"What did the doctor say? Are you OKs now? Are there any risks that something may happen afterwards?" I rush out when I break out of the moment.

He smiles, shaking his head. "No complications, no more worries. I'm all good, Rosie."

I can hardly believe it. He can see again, and he's okay. For some reason, I'm waiting for him to tell me he's actually lying and that this is all just temporary, or all just a dream, and that I'll wake up in the morning with him gone. If that were to be true, I would never be able to survive.

"Kaden," I breathe, caressing his face softly. "I can't believe you can see again."

"Me too."

In his eyes, I can see that this is all so new to him too, and that he himself is still in disbelief. If I'm struggling to adjust, I can't even begin to imagine how difficult this must be for him. He went from being blind for years to being able to see so suddenly that it probably all feels like a dream to him.

"Let's go home, Rosie." he says, bringing our joined hands down to our sides. I nod, smiling at him.

I'm not sure which house he's referring to as home, my apartment or his family apartment, but I let him lead me out of the hospital, and before I even realise it, we find ourselves on that familiar path, cherry blossoms laying at our feet.

He let's go of my hand and steps forward, holding his hands up in the air. I'm confused as to what he is doing, until a cherry blossom falls onto his palm and he smiles.

Is he...

He turns to me with a wide smile. "I caught a cherry blossom. So that means my first love will come true, right?"

"I thought you don't believe in such things." I say, folding my arms. He shrugs, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

He gestures me to come to him, and I do, with a smile on my face. He grabs my hand and places the cherry blossom onto my palm.

"What are you doing?" I ask, my eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"I'm giving it to you." he says.

"Are you giving me your first love?" I ask and he nods. "Why? Now your first love won't come true."

"As long as one of us gets their happy ever after with their first love, it's enough." he says.

"How do you know that?" I challenge, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Because I'm planning on being your first love."

My breath hitches at his words. The way he looks at me, the way he smiles at me, it makes my heart flutter in my chest.

Unable to help myself, I wrap my free hand around the back of his neck and pull him down to my height, our lips meeting. It's been three weeks since I've kissed him, since I've felt him, since I've tasted him, and I missed it. If possible, I don't ever want to stop kissing him.

To my dismay, he quickly pulls away, causing me to frown. He smiles softly. "We shouldn't get too carried away. We are in public, remember?"

My eyes widen. I was so entranced by Kaden and this moment that where we are had completely slipped my mind. Kaden laughs at my reaction, grabbing my hand.

He leans down, his lips brushing my ear. "Now let's go so that we can do whatever we want in the privacy of our own home."

Heat rushes to my cheeks and I have to look away from him to stop myself from jumping at him. Why am I like this? It's embarrassing.

He then continues leading me away, and it's only when we pass my apartment that I realize we are going elsewhere. Soon, we reach an apartment block, an apartment block that immediately strikes me as familiar.

"I know this place," I say, capturing Kaden's attention. "I tried to rent out an apartment here, but the prices were too steep for my budget."

"Yeah. It's much more affordable to just buy the property." he says.

"Well, renting a place was the only thing I could afford. I didn't want to rely too much on my mother, you see." I say with an awkward smile, and he nods in understanding. He always understands.

"Let's go." he says, leading me inside. We take the elevator to the top floor where the penthouse is, and I'm surprised when we get off there, not having expected the building's penthouse to belong to him. Were his parents rich or something?

Kaden turns to me when we reach the door, a smile on his face.

"Welcome to my home, Rosie."
