((Kaneki x Reader)) Broken Down

Fate?

I walked down the sidewalk looking around for a new place to try. I always liked going around and trying different restaurants and such. I stopped in front of a café. This is the one. I stepped inside and sat down at one of the tables. It was very small, but had a nice aroma to it. It seemed like a very friendly place to be at. A boy, who looked like my age walked over to the table. He had black hair and an eyepatch over his left eye. He was kind of adorable.

"Hello miss." He smiled. "What would you like to order?" He pulled out a little note pad and pen to write on.

I smile sat him. "I will have some (Fave/Tea) tea and (Fave/Cake) also." The boy jotted my order down and smiled.

"It will be over soon." He then walked away. I then looked over and out of the window. It was such a nice morning. The sun was shining and a lot of people were out of bed already. The streets get cleared before nightfall hits though. It's because of the ghouls. They are said to be inhuman creatures who feast on the flesh of humans. I have never encountered one before. Thankfully. I was even scared of them myself. I frowned at this thought.

The young boy then had came back over and set down a cup of tea and a small plate with a slice of cake upon it. "Here is your cake and tea ma'am. Oh! I also forgot to mention my name! It's Kaneki, call me over when you need me."

I smiled at him. "Of course." I proceeded to sip my tea and eat my cake. I strangely felt that someone was also watching me. But I shook the feeling and finished up. I then paid and thanked Kaneki for serving me.

I stepped out of the café and continued to do all of my daily activities. Still having that feeling that someone was watching me.

~Time Skip~

It was getting to be pretty late. 8:00 to be exact. I had a feeling I was being watched all day and I just finished my errands. I wanted to get home quickly. I was a bit slow today and night fall was coming upon me. I went to the train station quickly and gotten aboard the train. I finally got off of the train and went into the direction of my apartment. I lived alone and I had began college not long ago. I still felt the presence upon me and I began to feel shaky. Without thinking I turned and walked down a dark alley. I immediately realized what I had done and turned around to leave. A man was standing at the end. No. Scratch that. A ghoul. I could see his red on black eyes pierce through me and fear shoot through me. I was terrified. I backed up.

"Why hello pretty lady~ What are you doing alone at this time of night. You could get jumped, or even worse, eaten." The man began to corner me. He picked up a piece of my hair and smelled it. "Ah~ You smell so nice." He pressed his nose against my neck. "And smell tasty also."

Tears were falling down my cheeks and I closed my eyes. Waiting to be bit into. But pain never came. Instead a sudden loud screaming came into my ears. I squeezed my eyes even tighter shut. Once the screaming stopped I opened my eyes.

"Are you okay miss?" It was the boy from the café, Kaneki. But he only had one ghoul eye. I wasn't sure to what was going on, but I was still scared.

"Are you going to eat me?" Is all I could manage.

"Of course not. Here." He held out his hand. "Let's get you home."

Shaken up from what happened. A sudden drowsiness overcame me. I then blacked out.
