____________
Your POV
Haise, Mutsuki, and I rushed to find Urie. Mutsuki didn't seem to be able to keep up and he began to fall behind.
Ahead of us Urie and Ginshi were battling a ghoul. Urie stabbed the ghoul and Haise rushed to them. Haise pulled out his sword and blocked an attack from the ghoul. "Don't let your guard down." He sighed out in relief.
"I-investigator Sasaki?" Ginshi said.
Mutsuki then finally caught up.
Urie spoke up. "I'm finishing him."
"Don't." Haise said angrily. "Remember it's in the rules not to do anymore harm then needed? He actually might have useful info to." He paused. "And more importantly I told you not to act alone!" Haise's voice began to rise.
"But I'm with Urie." Ginshi said.
"Yeah. Don't worry." Urie agreed.
"Bullshit!" Haise snapped. "Are you hurt?"
I was surprised to hear Haise swear. He really does care for his subordinates. I shuffled closer. "At least they're not in critical condition." I said.
Urie put in headphones and began to walk away. "Yuki's right. I'll be able to regenerate anyways. You don't have to always blindly follow the 13 clauses investigator Sasaki."
"Wait! Squad leader Urie!" Ginshi and Mutsuki began to chase after him.
I looked at Haise who seemed hurt by his words. He scratched his head and thought deeply about something, mumbling to himself in the process.
~Time Skip brought you by thug life, the only life for Urie~
It was past midnight now and Haise was reading papers and such. I sat on the couch sitting patiently, waiting for something to do.
I looked over my shoulder and saw Haise take of his glasses and rubbed his eye. "So much to do." He mumbled. He then stood up and stretched. "We have to see Dr. Shiba tomorrow. I need to get some of his research tomorrow on the quinckes."
I nodded. "Alright." I thought about what Urie said. "Is what Urie said right?"
Haise looked at me and frowned. "Don't listen to Urie. He can be a little stubborn at times, even though he is the squad leader." He walked over and sat down next to me.
I smiled. "I guess so. He did seem a bit narcissistic when I first met him."
Haise chuckled. "Yeah. That's how he is." He rested his head on his hand. "Unlike you. You're a perfect example for a strong leader."
"Eh? I've never worked together with others until now though. I don't consider myself a strong leader."
"Trust me. Everyone thinks that you're a cool person. Especially Mutsuki. He told me what happened when I lost my pet hamster. He said many things like how you thought of many ways to find (Y/N) and ways to lure her out. Mutsuki said that you thought things through."
I blushed. "I have to thank him for that. I didn't know he praised me so much."
Haise puffed out his cheeks a bit. "Yeah."
I frowned. "Are you pouting Haise?" I asked.
"No." He avoided eye contact and turned his head away.
I thought a moment and then it came to me. He was jealous of the way Mutsuki thought about me. "You're jealous." I giggled.
He blushed. "So? Aren't we dating?"
Now I was blushing. "You really didn't ask me out officially though..." I trailed off.
Haise looked at me. He smiled warmly. "Then will you Yuki Heartold do me the favor of being my girlfriend."
I smiled. "Of course."
Haise then leaned in and kissed me sweetly. He pulled back. "I'm glad."
"I'm also glad." I pecked his lips. I then yawned. "Oops~ I'm a bit tired."
Haise laughed. "I am also. Let's head to bed."
I nodded. "Yeah."
~Tiny Time Skip-tsu~
Haise begged me to sleep with him and I agreed. We were snuggling closely together and I drifted off into sleep. I was dreaming now, but instead of a nice dream, it was a nightmare.
Blood was everywhere and a boy with white hair was whispering sorry over and over again.
"It's alright." I kept repeating.
"I'm sorry. I am so sorry. I broke our promise of being together. I'm sorry. I love you still." The boy was crying now. He had one ghoul eye and one human eye. Blood tears were falling from his ghoul eye.
"Shh. It's alright." I tried to calm the boy.
He finally looked up and smiled. "I'm glad (Y/N). You still love me, don't you?"
"Of course." I paused. "Kaneki."
The boy with the name Kaneki had blood seeping through his white shirt he then fell lifelessly to the ground. My heart then felt like it shattered into a million pieces.
I woke up and sat up. Tears were falling from my eyes and I wiped them away. "Kaneki." I whispered the white haired boy's name.
Haise then fluttered his eyes open. He slowly sat up and looked at me. "Are you alright Yuki?" He put his hands on my cheeks and wiped some more of my tears away. "Did you have a nightmare?"
"I don't remember." I lied. I didn't want to worry Haise with it. He already had so much on his mind and I wanted to figure this out on my own.
"Whatever it was, I'll protect you from it, alright?"
I nodded.
"Good." He kissed my forehead. "To make the nightmares go away."
I blushed. "It's not enough." I said.
Haise chuckled. "Then I'll shower you with kisses until the nightmares go away." He kissed my lips and continued to do so until I fell asleep in his arms again. I didn't have another nightmare that night.
