((Kaneki x Reader)) Broken Down

All for you

Today was the day Anteiku prepared for the all out war on the CCG it wasn't just Anteiku though. Many other ghouls decided to join, but not on our side.

It was going to be very dangerous. I trained for today, I even got a mask from Uta. It was a light creme mask, that covered my whole face, except for my ghoul eye. It was just a plain mask because Uta said it gives me character. I didn't know what he meant by that though.

I dressed in all black and put on my mask. It really stood out. I went onto the rooftop and found Kaneki there. He was onlooking the city quietly.

He tuned around after a few minutes. He had his mask on and was also ready to fight.

I stepped over to him and took his hand into mine.

He squeezed my hand. "If something happens to me, don't break our promise."

The promise we made awhile ago. "Of course I won't." I squeezed his hand back. "Nothing will happen to you and me."

He nodded slowly. "I'll reunite with you after this, promise?"

I smiled, even though he couldn't see. "Promise."

He then let go of my hand. "It's time to go."

"Yeah."

Kaneki began to walk away, but I grabbed his sleeve. He turned around and I unzipped his mask. I lifted my mask and lightly pressed my lips against his. I finally pulled back. "For good luck."

Kaneki then grasped my shoulders and kissed me more roughly. "I need more luck than that."

~Time Skip~

Kaneki left before me and I patiently sat inside Anteiku waiting until a half hour had passed. Kaneki ordered me to stay inside until a full half hour passed.

Once the clock struck 10:30 I stepped outside, flipping the open sign to closed. The streets were empty and it was kind of quiet. I then heard yelling nearby, so I ran towards that direction. I saw four CCG investigators fending off a ghoul. I've never seen this ghoul before, but I decided to help.

I ran behind the investigators and brought out my kagune. "Four against one isn't fair." I cracked my knuckles and joined.

~Another Time Skip 030~

I was hot and sweaty and luckily survived this far. I walked down the empty streets. I heard a loud yell and I recognized it immediately. Kaneki.

I quickly picked up my running pace and stopped underneath a bridge. There he was lying lifeless with his eyes gone. Kaneki. I slowly walked over and knelt beside him. "Kaneki." I whispered.

A CCG investigator then stepped into view. He was wearing glasses and looked plainly at me.

I felt tears trickle from my eyes and then Kaneki began to cough. "Kaneki." I looked back at him and smiled.

"(Y/N)." He whispered. "I'm sorry I can't see."

I grasped his hand. "It's alright."

He coughed again, but this time blood came from his mouth. "I'm sorry."

I shook my head and more tears fell from my eyes. "It's alright.

"I'm sorry."

"Stop saying your sorry. You didn't mean for this to happen."

Kaneki was silent for a moment then spoke up. "You're right I did this for you." His hand that was holding mine slowly went limp.

"Kaneki." I whispered again.

The CCG investigator then stepped foward. "I guess you're useful also."

I then felt a strong pain hit my back and I fell into unconsciousness.

Of course it isn't over 030 I'm actually preparing the next chapter right now and the story line is now going into Tokyo Ghoul :re...
