So I decided to add just some notes here, before you start, with warnings and sensitive topics that might appear. This will most likely be updated as the story goes on. I do not own any characters, I own nothing from the show Downton Abbey .
First I want to say that even though I am a history nerd, WW1 was not something I dived into a lot, it was always WW2 for me. I try to search the web to get it as accurate as I can but since it is a historical fanFICTION I will allow myself to change certain parts, since this is not something that is meant to be published beyond being a fanfiction of Downton Abbey.
Second, english is NOT my first language and it can be shown with perhaps sentence structure more than anything. I do not have a BETA reader for my stories or anyone editing it because this is all just for fun and my outlet for writer's block since I am writing a long fantasy novel, with made up languages and tricky plotlines and holes. This is a way for me to practice writing characters as they are established, evolve characters and keep to a story.
Third, here are the warnings:
Talks about self-harm and suicide, conversion therapy, period-time homophobia, internalised homophobia, abuse (verbally and physically), sex, blood, graphic scenes, death, alcohol and mentions of abuse.
