BRINGG BRINGG BRINGG. I cringe at the loud ringing in my ears as the class bell rings as I enter third period. It's not even halfway through the day and I already feel like jumping out a window. The smell of new books, paint, and B.O hit my face when I make my way into the class even more. As I walk to the back of the class where I sit everyday, the loud sound of Ashley Yale and her goons gets louder and louder, making my ears want to bleed. I sat down on the hard blue bumpy chair and stared at the tan desk waiting for the black haired boy who unfortunately, is my best friend, as i'm trying my best to avoid Yale and her wannabe Ashleys. The air vent hits my skin as I grab my blue sweater over my cold brown arms. Afterwards, I wrapped my messy dirty brown curls into a ponytail to get it out of my eyes and as I did, somebody's shadow casted over my own.

“Hey Liv.” Kate waved as she sat down on the empty desk in front of me. Liv was a nickname I personally didn't go by but, I made an exception for some friends like Kate and Arlo.

Kate wasn't a good friend of mine but she is really smart and logical in school as I'm only smart and logical with outside school things. We balance each other out pretty well. She's like the good little person sitting on my shoulders, always moving me away from trouble. For the most part.

“Hi Kate. What are you doing here, this isn't your class?” I asked, looking around the room as there was no teacher telling kids to go to their classes.

“Well class hasn't started yet so I figured that I’d come by and make sure you're not already planning your next high school crime.” she jokes letting out a small chuckle. She hates when I get into trouble but she always jokes about it in the end. She knows if I can control my actions I’ll be set. She still doesn't have full trust of me yet though.

“Oh darn, well you caught me.” I huffed out a breath of defeat, “I was just about to plan my way out to the food court and get some lunch!” I say jumping my arms up, finishing my super sarcastic sentence.

“Well, I'm glad I caught you. Do you know what I would do if I had to hear that happen?” she laughed as she got up, getting ready to leave i suppose.

“Guess so. Say, have you seen Arlo? He's supposed to be here by now.” I ask confused, still looking for the boy I deemed to tolerate somehow.

“No. But I’ll let you know if I do. Bye!” she smiled as she got her backpack ready to walk away.

“Thanks. See ya.” I smiled back as a kind gesture and fixed my posture in the chair, hoping that Arlo would show up soon.

“Awww, are all your friends leaving you?” that voice. That same voice that has been pestering me for years. The voice I hoped not to hear today. Ashley Yale spoke up from behind me with her minions close by.

I didn't want to have a bad day considering it was already going down like the twin towers on 9/11 so all i said was, “Go away, Ashley. I'm not dealing with your gimmicks today.”

I turned around in my seat and started bouncing my right leg, vibrating the rest of my body.

I wasn't scared of what she does, I'm afraid of what I might do.

“Mm. That's too bad. I just thought you would have wanted someone to stick around cause even though your dad's here, he's not always around.” I could practically feel her glaring through my soul with that smile. The smile she manipulated everyone with. The smile she gave where it looked as if she cared about you.

Deep down everyone knew she didn't. But she was too powerful.

“Shut up Ashley.” I warn, trying to control my temper as my leg bounces even harder, starting to shake my hands. She has no right to talk about my friends and family like that.

“Oh come on,” she starts.

Just then, the life saver of my life walks through the door, Arlo.

“You know it's true,” Ashley continues as he walks closer to me.

“What's happening?” Arlo asked, whispering at me but staring at Ashley, the devil herself.

All I could do was shake my head slightly as my emotions got the best of me.

“I mean, look where your mom left you. In the dirt.” Ashley finished.

Arlos mouth opened wide as I stood up with my fists in a ball ready for war, “I said shut up Ashley or I swear you're gonna end up in a ditch!” i cried out in anger as Arlo pushed me behind him getting a piece at her too.

“Who do you think you are having any right to speak about someone else's personal life?” He questioned, raising his voice, loud enough for the teacher walking in to hear.

“Hey now what is going on here?” Mr. Gustise interjected, throwing his big brown arms in the middle of Ashley, Arlo and I.

“This shedevil is telling Olivia's business which she has no right doing and it's not fair because Olivia has done nothing to her but stay out of her way.” Arlo states, sticking up to me.

We both know that she gets away with everything but it's not fair to keep letting her think she has the most power over everyone she sees. Her dad can get her about anything and everything she wishes for. Therefore leading her to be very likeable and popular.

“That is not true!” Ashley speaks up, now crying out, “They're lying! She's always been jealous of me and what I have so she makes stuff up and gets her friends involved!”

“Now, Olivia, what have I told you about respecting others? And you too Mr. Reed?” Mr Gustice states shocked, crossing his arms into his tan knitted turtleneck long sleeves, “Id expect this kind of behaviour from Olivia but from you? Beyond disappointed.” he ended, shaking his head.

“What?!” Arlo and I say in union.

“How could you believe her?! Can't you see her lyin-” I try to find myself justice but it's not long before I make it worse.

“I do not want to hear it, young lady!!” Mr Gustice begins, “First you disrespect your peers, now you disrespect me?? Saturday detention. For a month.” He finishes making my punishment.

I couldn't believe it. She won again. Anything and everything I do to try and make myself not guilty when it comes to being a threat to little miss perfect, it doesn't work. I'm always the bad guy and she's always the victim. It's not fair. Somehow and someway, I'm going to switch the roles.
