Arlo and I walk up to the school building as I discuss the plan one more time.
"Alright, You go to security, I go to detention. I come to you and we do the switch-a-roo. I go back, you leave, badda bing badda boom. Got it?" I summed up the plan.
"Eye-Eye captain." Arlo salutes to me as he heads to the side to wait for his call to come out.
"Olivia Stammer. At last, your here." Mr Gustice greets, unpleased at my appearance.
"Good to see you too Mr. Gustice." I greet back, smiling sarcastically.
"I hope you're not trying to fool me with anything today." He warns.
"Nope, just here cause I have to be." I lied.
"Alright then, come in." Mr. Gustice invites.
I walked through the doors of the detention room to see no one else. Maybe the other students are just late.
"Are there any other students scheduled for Saturday detention?" I ask.
"No. Just you Ms. Stammer." He assured me.
Great. Now this plan is falling apart. But it's okay, we can make this work. I just can't be gone for too long.
After an hour of waiting and doing homework, mostly waiting, I decided to start the plan. I gave Arlo plenty of time to work security so we should be good.
"Mr. Gustice, may i please use the restroom?" I ask.
He raised an eyebrow and then replied, "No funny business?"
"No funny business." I impatiently replied.
He shooed me out, signaling that I could go and with that, I was off.
I first went the way the bathroom was, then made it towards security with a shortcut I learned by trying to get to class faster. I knocked three times on the locker to notify Arlo I was close.
When I got to the area where we set up the plan, I saw Arlo standing there like he was supposed to be. I smiled and gestured for him to follow and he obliged, running up from behind to open the door for me into the office.
"Find the computer, switch, in and out. Okay?" I explained the plan once again, "Nobody else is here for Saturday detention so if I'm gone too long, it'll be suspicious."
"Got it, now help me look for this stupid laptop with the drive." he instructs.
I nod and search on the tables for a specific computer. After a minute of searching I finally found it.
"Arlo! Toss me the drive!" I whisper shouted.
He pulled the drive out of his backpack and threw it to me. I caught it and switched them out.
"The eagle has landed!" Arlo cheered.
