He then told the whole story. From him bailing me out to me saving the multiverse. No one believed us until we space jumped all of the officers to the UCCSO and back. They then apologized and refused to put me back in MCF or send me to juvie.
Eventually, the news reporters came and we shared the story once more. This time I did it myself. Everyone eventually was at my house, Kate, Mr. Gustice, even Ashley Yale. She apologized for getting me sent to MCF but I had to apologize for blackmailing her after. I was happy to be home but I was still missing someone.
Arlo was still missing and I had heard no news from Natalia. I looked for Terence who was talking to my dad who was thanking him for keeping me safe.
"Hey, have you seen Nat? She's supposed to be looking for Alro. He would have been found by now." I asked Terence, walking between the two.
"I was going to ask you the same question. It's weird how everyone showed up except for her." Terence replied, now on the lookout for Nat.
I sat on the curb where my dad and Terence stood. They could be good friends. I mean he did help me save the world. I just hoped someone would tell me that they knew where Arlo was.
Two hours had passed and no sign of Nat or Arlo. My dad was inside preparing to cook dinner, happy to be home as he waved out towards Terence and I. We were both sitting together on the same curb from two hours ago, still waiting for the two people who never showed.
"I wanted to give you this." Terence spoke, handing me a watch. Similar to the one he had been wearing.
"Is this one like yours?" I asked, taking a closer look at it. The watch was silver like his but it wasn't expensive looking. It was a brown leather textured one with only the rim of the watch coated with silver. It looked like every other watch but I noticed that on the opposite side of the watch, it had the letters 'UCCSO' imprinted on it.
"You bet. It looks dainty but I don't want your cover to be blown." He joked.
"I think it's awesome. Thank you, Terence." I smile.
"No problem, hero." He replies, smiling back.
It went silent after that. We both looked away. And went back to our mourning selves. I fidgeted with my watch before speaking up.
"Do you think they found him?" I turned to Terence, referring to Arlo as 'him'.
"I don't think he ever even left." He starts, "I think he just disappeared into thin air. Just like everyone else did when the time capsule was messed up." He investigated.
"But he was gone long before everyone else." I say.
Dernor did have a point but the black wasn't even fading towards ours when I checked the sevailence.
"Yeah I thought so too but the day I went to visit you, I was working on paperwork, and my pen randomly disappeared. Then it was my shoes, then my cabinet, then my car. All in front of my very own eyes." He explained.
"So you're saying Arlo never left but instead-"
"Disappeared into thin air." He concluded, "Which means-"
"He should be back by now!" I finished for him, full of hope.
I jumped up and ran to the door of my house, "We found Arlo! Be back in time for dinner! Love you!" I called out to my dad.
I grabbed my jacket and my dad's car keys and raced out to his car.
"What are you doing?" Terence asked, knocking on the passenger side where I was sitting.
"Getting Arlo back."
