The morning eventually became a reality as i woke up to a bright light shining down on me. I woke up in my bed, the super soft one, with natalia flashing a flashlight in my eyes.
"Hey, there you are." She spoke calmly, noticing my scared expression.
"What are you doing?" I ask, voice groggily from the lack of input and iron.
"You were unresponsive this morning so I just let you stay in bed but you're all okay now so it's okay." She reassured me with a smile.
I smile back, happy to be alive. I don't know what happened or why I didn't wake up but I'm okay now.
"Where's Arlo?" my smile faded as I noticed he was missing.
"That's um, that's also what I came in for.." Nat gulped, motioning her head to her feet.
"What are you talking about?" I ask, my stomach aching from anticipation of what she'll say about Arlo.
"He's been missing since breakfast.." she spoke up, breaking the news.
"Wha-?" I whisper, my voice breaking. The next day, the very next day after the one night we promised never to leave each other, he leaves.
"But it's okay! We have security looking for him as we speak." She comforts me.
I sat in the courtyard all alone, hurt at the news that I had received an hour ago. I didn't know what to do. My body froze like a broken machine. My head hurt like a thousand hammers hitting my head. My heart even aches like lemon in a paper cut.
The wind blew in my face as i stared out towards the field. I haven't heard any news from Natalia about Arlo and i was starting to get worried. Even more so than i already was. I didn't want to make any friends because i already have one. Well, had.
I decided to get up and do something since mourning over his disappearance wasn't helping me get better so i walked into the main room and headed towards the library. Did i mention there was a library? It's huge! Filled with books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, and magazines all the way from the sunlight roof to the bottom of the brown colored wall. It had a ladder for the workers to get a book for us. It was a dream.
I picked out a book called 'Oxford Inheritance' and checked it out at the front desk. I then proceeded back into the main room and sat down at one of the tables. Nobody was inside so i was glad to have peace and quiet. Maybe not just to read, but to think. Think about all of the things that had just happened in the past week. It was a crazy week and now my best friend is missing.
I tried to conclude my thoughts and finally picked up the book to give it a look. I was walking to the door but someone's appearance stopped me. It was Natalia.
