ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ᴛᴡᴇʟᴠᴇ

Natalia finally came in after my minutes were up. Who knew that they timed you? Not me.

“Hey! Times up. Hope you had a good visit with..?”

“Terence Dernor.” he greeted. Shaking Natalia's hand. 

They looked at each other while shaking hands. They were moving particularly slow while staring at each other. Like some ‘love at first sight’ kind of thing. Cute but weird.

“AHEM, uh nice to meet you, Terence Dernor.” Nat finally spoke, removing her hand from his, placing them in her pockets, 

“You ready to head back?” she continued, asking me.

“I gue-” 

“Um, I was actually going to ask, if i could take her with me? Like bail her out. You guys do that, right?” he practically begged. The universe was ending after all and there was no time to lose. Literally. 

“Oh. Well we don't particularly do that. It's not a juvie, it's a Correctional facility where yo-”

“Please.” Terence asked once more, cupping his hands like he was praying.

Natalia stood there thinking about if she should say yes. He looked at her with pleading eyes, like he was mentally telling her that something was wrong. Knowing he could manipulate her into saying something if he did that. 

It sure did work because she gave us an, “Okay. But don't make it suspicious. Ill bring you your clothes to change out of so you don't look like all the other kids staying here. I will be right back, stay here.” she directed.

I was so ready to leave this place. Until i forgot who i would be leaving behind. My missing best friend. 

I grabbed Nats hand and asked, “What about Arlo?”

“Were still looking for him. Hell be here when you come back, okay? I promise.” she reassured, giving me a comforting smile. 

“Okay.” I replied, returning the same small smile.

“Okay ill be right back, stay here.” she instructed once more.

Terence and I nodded and she left with that.

      She came back within 3 minutes with my clothes. She had a smile on her face as if she was so happy like she was doing something bad for the first time in her life. She handed me the clothes and the both of them just stared at me, waiting for me to change clothes.

“What are you two staring at? Turn around! Can a girl get some privacy? Jeez” I confront sarcastically. 

The two just laughed and turned around while i proceeded to take my uniform off to change back into my regular clothes.

“You guys can turn around now.” I inform the both of them, now fully clothed in my normal attire.

They both turned around and smiled. I returned the kind gesture and took my last look around and sighed.

“Man, I hate this place… Okay i'm ready to go!” i cheer sarcastically, a big smile spread across my face.

Terence clearly forgot why he was here when Nat showed up because i had to nudge him in the hip for making goo-goo eyes at her.

“Oh! Yeah right, we have to do something really, really important.” He added, becoming serious again.

“Yeah so we gotta go. Well be back though, maybe.” I reassure, muttering maybe under my breath.

Terrence and I smiled at Nat as she watched us leave. It was time to save the world. Or worlds.
