Boss Lady #3: Gold's Impurity

IV. WAP

"I'M not sure what gave you an idea but I'm not interested in you, Gold."

She was taken aback. Gold has never been turned down, let alone blatantly rejected in her face.

How dare he reject her?

Gold felt insulted. Heck, she feels disrespected even. Anong meron sa kanya na naging dahilan para hindi ito maging interesado?

She's beautiful, smart, and great in bed—well, Vaughn probably doesn't know the last part yet, but he will eventually—so there is no reason for him not to like her.

"What?" 'Yon na lamang ang tanging nasabi ng dalaga dahil sa naghalo halong emosyon na nadarama.

The serious atmosphere was so thick, they would need a chainsaw to cut through it. Bago pa nakasagot si Vaughn ay dumating ang appetizer nila, pero wala nang gana kumain si Gold.

Sino bang gaganahang kumain sa ginawa ng lokong 'to?

"I said, I'm not interested. Pinagbigyan lang kita ngayon, but please, don't draw any conclusions from this."

Aba't... ang kapal naman nito, wika ni Gold sa sarili.

Hindi pinahalata ni Gold ang negatibong emosyon na lumulukob sa kanya ngayon kaya nagsimula na siyang kumain kahit parang pakiramdam niya ay umurong ang sikmura niya. She will not let someone like him humiliate her just like that.

No one says no to Gold.

She did not say anything more, though. Mula sa appetizer hanggang dessert ng course meal nila, no word came out of Gold's mouth. Vaughn should know, however, that this does not mean Gold has given up on her pursuit.

This will just fuel her even more. Right now, Gold is back on the drawing board to figure out what will be her next step.

"Are you ready to go?" tanong ni Vaughn sa kanya nang matapos nitong punasan ang bibig gamit ang table napkin.

Gold's gaze went to him after it lingered on the flowers and plants around the outdoor area of the restaurant. Gandang ganda siya sa landscaping ng lugar na ito. Parang naisip tuloy niyang ipa-landscape din ang garden ng kanyang bahay, tutal wala namang mga halaman doon maliban sa mga damo.

"Yes, I am," tipid niyang sagot saka muling iniwas ang tingin. Vaughn looked at her intensely for a moment, before turning his eyes away then calling for the waitress to ask for their bill.

"I'm sure there are other men out there who are more willing to be with you, Gold. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. Sorry," basag ni Vaughn sa katahimikan na lumukob sa kanila.

Muli niyang tinignan ang binata saka ngumisi. "Oh, don't get me wrong, architect. I'm not yet done with you. Just give me time, you'll see."

Vaughn's gaze darkened as his lips thinned. Mukhang hindi ito natuwa sa sinabi ng dalaga, pero ang reaksyon niya ay nagdulot ng tuwa naman kay Gold.

"Don't test me, Gold. I don't like to play games unlike you," banta nito.

Dumating ang waitress dala ang bill, na agad namang inipitan ni Vaughn ng credit card saka ibinalik ito sa waitress na muling umalis palayo ng table nila.

"Hmmm, why not, though? Games are fun, Vaughn," she said with a wicked, flirtatious smile. Dumako sa kanyang mga labi ang tingin ng binata bago ito muling tumitig sa kanyang mga mata. Gold has never been thankful for choosing to wear her ruby red lipstick today.

"For you, maybe. Not for me."

Napaka tipid naman nitong sumagot, komento ni Gold sa isip.
