XXII. Kiss It Better

HAVING a free time after a styling gig means Gold has the time to party, and this time, she decided to ask Vaughn to go and party with her.

It has been a few months since the fiasco involving Erika's old college photos was resolved, and as far as she knows, Erika and Trey have made up already and are spending their time together so she doesn't want to disturb the two.

Kaya si Vaughn ang naisipan niyang ayain dahil noong nakasama niya ito sa dance floor nang makita niya ito sa club, nag-enjoy siyang kasama ang binata kahit hindi ito marunong sumayaw. She is sure she will enjoy more this time now that they are dating.

And so that is what Gold did. She held her phone in her ear as she went inside her car after a gig, waiting for Vaughn to answer.

"Yeah, baby?" bati ng binata. Gold's stomach tingled just being able to hear his rough yet soft voice.

"Are you free tonight?"

"I'm free, Gold. Why?"

Gold smiled. "Let's go clubbing tonight, architect."

"Baby, kung pasasayawin mo lang ulit ako tulad last time, I'd rather pass."

"Hindi naman!" she giggled then started her car. "Well, I might! Pero sige na, at least you can be there with me."

"Why would you want me there anyway?" tanong ni Vaughn.

"Well, architect, I want to spend time with you," she answered. "And pangtaboy ka na rin sa mga ex ko na baka nandoon. Unless, 'di ka sasama, eh 'di ako na lang tataboy—"

"What time, Gold?"

Gold was taken aback because of how serious and urgent his voice sounded like. "Ha?"

"What time?"

"Around 10-ish. Is that okay?" she gently asked.

"I'll be there. I'll meet you at the club after work, text me the details."

Muli siyang napangiti dahil pumayag ito. "Okay, Vaughn. Take care."

"You too, baby." The call ended, leaving Gold smiling after the call. Nagmaneho na siya mula sa location ng gig niya pauwi para mag-asikaso para sa gala nila ni Vaughn at para ayusin at ligpitin ang mga dala para sa trabaho.

NANG dumating siya sa Escape, nagtungo agad si Gold sa reserved area para sa kanya na nasa VIP section. She texted Vaughn to inform him that she is already inside the club, and his reply confirmed that he is almost at the venue.

When Joy, the waitress who always serves Gold and her best friends, arrived in her area, she quickly asked for a glass of martini. Maya maya'y agad ding bumalik si Joy dala dala ang inumin niya.

The club is jampacked and loud, and Gold just sat on the couch while watching the people dance and have fun on the dance floor. Seeing those people made Gold remember her first time to be in a club back in college.

It was one of the rare rebellious moments she had back then, when she was not yet fully embracing the rebel side of herself. Party 'yon ng isang business organization sa university at inaya siya ng mga kaklase na sumama dahil mga miyembro sila ng organization na 'yon.

Gold did not want to attend because she was afraid of her parents not allowing. Inggit na inggit pa nga siya sa mga blockmates niya na hindi dinidiktahan ng mga magulang, unlike her. Dahil sa tindi ng inggit niya, Gold sneaked out of the mansion and went to the club with the help of her blockmates who fetched her near her residence. It was such a thrilling experience for Gold, but that was the first time she felt free.
