Being that I just got back from a trip, I really couldn't call out of work today to stay with trin but as soon as I got off I went back to the hospital. Trin told me yesterday at work she tripped over the mess the the afternoon crew left at the back of the store while she was getting ready to cut on the lights and open up the store and was in pain ever since so she eventually had to leave work early to come to the hospital and it went downhill from there.
I sat beside her in the hospital bed while she flipped through the channels in the tv before she eventually got annoyed not finding anything she wanted to watch
"I'm ready to get the fuck home" she sighed, slamming the remote down and I looked over at her
"When did they say you could go home?"
"Girllll. Tomorrow. And Ana I swear I'm so sick of being in here already"
"Well if it'll make you feel better, I'll get Dre to cook for you when you go home"
"Ima need that. I been craving some of that Cajun chicken"
I laughed and nodded "I got you"
"Did he tell you he almost beat August's ass the other day"
I rose my eyebrow
"Wa-huh? Who is august?"
She sucked her teeth, talking my arm repeatedly "you know his name. I always get it wrong. The month boy"
"June?"
"Yeah"
"No. He ain tell me that. We really didn't do too much talking yesterday"
"Oh he finally stopped holding out on you"
"Yes. And it was so good too"
"Must be nice. Meanwhile I think ima stay a virgin for the rest of my life"
Just as I was about to agree with her, I stopped and thought about what she said before looking her up and down
"Girl!"
Trin burst out laughing before laying her head on me
"I meannn. I don't have my baby no more so you really don't have proof that I'm not a virgin"
"Darius is more than enough proof"
"Chileeee. Don't even get me started on that boy"
"What's wrong with Darius?"
"You already know it's a lot wrong with him.. but other than that, he acting more hurt than me"
"Well y'all did just lose y'all baby. And whether you believe it or not, Darius really do love you no matter how mean you are to him so I'm pretty sure he wanted that baby with you"
"Welllll" trin shrugged before laying her head on my shoulder
"Everything happens for a reason trin"
"I know, but it's like damn. Bad shit just always happen to me"
"The toughest battles always go to the strongest. I hate this happened but think about it like this.. for one, you can now focus solely on what you really want in life. That day at work you told me you wasn't happy where you were in life, now you can focus on fixing that. You got me, you got Darius cause he ain going nowhere and you got Dre, even though he can be an asshole to you sometimes"
"Try all the time" she mumbled and we both laughed "I do need to find out what ima do though cause footlocker can kiss my wholeeee ass"
"Don't worry about that right now. You just worry about getting yourself straight. I wouldn't go back either if I was you. Hell, that's why I'm so happy I graduate soon so I can get outta there"
