Colby looked down at his phone, counting the hours till the full moon rose-- eight hours and twelve minutes, but Colby was beyond anxious for it. So much so that Colby's eyes had remained the crimson glow of an Alpha since he woke up that morning back at the Trap House with his heart beating so fast in his chest. He could have willed the color away to his sapphire color that his fans were so obsessed about, but he didn't.

When Sam woke up to the sight, his own eyes mirrored that of his mate in a vivid golden color. Sam was anxious in his own way. Of course, Sam was worried like Colby about Amber, but he was more concerned for how this plan may go and for their pack. When it came to projects and their YouTube videos, Sam always had a plan and prepared for it, while Colby did things on an emotional whim. It was a way to balance each other and it would work perfectly, except for times like these.

This was about one of their friends. This was about all of their pack. This was about themselves. More was at stake here than a high school grade or some views.

Sam tried to soothe his mate that morning, but not even a bribe of sex and intimacy was going to do that. So, Sam dropped it and they both went about their schedules to finish packing for the cabin. Outside the door of their nest, their pack could sense the anxiety and excitement (a dangerous dual emotion) of their Alpha and the Alpha's Omega.

Soon enough, everyone was walking around the pack house with glowing werewolf eyes.

But, at least, everyone was ready to go to the cabin by that point and they wouldn't have to worry about fan eyes seeing them like this.

When they arrived at the comfort of their cabin in the woods, Colby breathed a sigh of relief. They were closer to getting Amber and that's all Colby could think about.

Sam grabbed his hand as they exited the car, peering at his mate next to him with golden eyes, "Let's focus on setting everything up for tonight, love," his fingers caressed Colby's knuckles, "Amber will come."

"Yeah... I know," Colby sighed, letting go of his mate's hand and walked into the cabin alone.

There was a rift between Colby and Sam now. Sam knew it and tried his damn hardest to heal it. Elton and Corey knew it and definitely talked about it in the privacy of their own nest. Even Jake and Tara knew it, but they kept silent, just hoping that it was a bump in the road. The only one who seemed to not know was Colby.

Amber wasn't even here yet and Sam could feel tight anger crawling in his chest at her.

As the Omega put away the snacks in the pantry, Sam watched his mate in the living room. Colby had no shirt on and was "trying" to move the sofa's around with a bare-chested Elton as Corey ordered the pair around. But, Colby kept stopping and looking at his phone.

A frown appeared on Sam's face and he sighed, returning his attention to the snacks.

"Hey, Sam?"
