Preston Castle, California...
Preston Castle was dark and it appeared eerily silent, as if no one was inside, but Colby knew otherwise. Somewhere inside the buildings' creaking bones was the pack members and a group of werewolf hunters. In the distance, a morning dove cooed and reminded Colby of summers back in Kansas, but there was no peace for Colby in it. His body throbbed and vibrated with bloodlust in a way he hadn't felt since Lucian so long ago. The Alpha werewolf in him snarled and pawed, ready to jump at the opportunity to save his pack members. A long time ago, Colby would have seen these thoughts and feelings as something not associated with him (rather with the wolf), but they were entirely him. It was Colby Brock, Alpha of Los Angeles.
Nate Hardy pulled out from the back of Colby's Corolla parked along the street a huge sheet of paper rolled up in a tube, "Got the blueprints, Colby."
The Alpha turned and nodded, "Gather around everyone," he called out to his pack around his car.
Nate spread the paper out to reveal the basic layout of the old school, "Seth found these so easy — not that my boy found it easy to find information, but it's amazing what you can find online when you know the right sites and the right words."
"They're recent plans?" Tara asked as he came up beside Nate. Jake stood beside her, eyes tracing the lines on the paper. He had an arm around her waist in a protective gesture.
Nate nodded to her, "Of course, though it's not like the castle changed much since it first was built, thankfully."
"Walk us through what Seth told you," Colby leaned forward to hold down a corner of the blueprints. Seth had found this information for them, but that was the extent of his help in what would happen tonight. He refused to shed blood, as was part of his help in what would happen tonight. He refused to shed blood, as it was somehow part of his fairy creed or something like that. Even when Colby said Seth was part of the blood shed by giving them this information, there seemed to be enough wiggle room for Seth to claim a clean state of mind.
Nate looked around at those gathered around the hood of Colby's car. To his right was as follows in a circle: Tara Yummy, Jake Webber, Cassie Martin, Aryia Emirati, Kevin Langue, Elton Castee, Corey Scherer, and finally Sam and Colby closing the circle on his left. Nate had tried to say it to Colby after Sam's rescue from Jake Paul, but truly it was amazing to have such a pack ready to fight over two of their pack members. Throughout Nate's life growing up in the supernatural world with his Alpha father, Nate saw Colby as one of those rare Alpha's Nate met who put pack above everything else. It was no surprise that Lucian fell to his paw.
"Alright, everyone," Nate started, slamming a finger down on the entry point on the map, "This place isn't that complicated, but knowing what we know now about the hunters, this won't be an easy rescue mission. The Alpha they have will surely tell them the best ways to capture a werewolf," Nate pointed at another section of the map that showed the third floor, "We have no idea where Xepher and Amber are but the hunters could be keeping them in one of the dormitory rooms, BUT—," Nate flipped the blueprint over to reveal one of the other levels, "Considering the last two locations, I would bet everything I own that they're in the basement."
