☽ 11 ☾

The full moon came quicker than Colby was expecting it to for he was so focused on watching Jake Paul and taking care of his pack that it was literally the day that he felt the power of it come over him. He was exhausted, hunched over his laptop in his and Sam's room. Everyone was up and making so much noise out in the living room as people came and went through the door to gather food and other things for tonight and the next few days. Sam was out in the woods collecting herbs to replenish Luna's emergency stock she kept in the cabin.

Once again, the Trap House Pack was preparing for another night at the cabin.

Luna and Colby spoke privately a few days prior to the full moon without either of their mates' present. Colby had questions and Luna had the answers as it always seemed to be-- a happy balance to their paranormal lives--, but Luna told Colby everything he needed to know except he wouldn't be able to come to her after this again. Mike was seething with anger at Colby for not thinking about his mate, at least that is what Mike saw that night when Xepher was bitten. So, Luna kept true to her mate and Colby respected her more for it.

Luna also revealed the spell she had done on Xepher and told Colby that Xepher was dying from the bite so Luna forced the curse of the wolf upon their friend to save her life. It was never supposed to be done. Like Mike, Luna went against the course of nature to save Xepher. Luna believed her actions would come back to haunt her-- "as above, so below"-- so she told Colby that she needed to go away for some time.

Colby respected that too and that night she left with Mike for good.

Her absence was felt by everyone.

Colby knew that without her, this night would be a real test of his dominance and leadership as the Trap House Pack Alpha. He had basically two new Omega's with him tonight who he was going to have to watch carefully. He couldn't be with Sam like he usually was and he couldn't hang with the rest of his pack like he usually did, howling up at the moon and soothing his worries.

But the thing was... he had his pack to help him too with this. He wasn't alone. He had to remember that. The Krachouse would be joining them tonight as they wanted to help Xepher and Amber through their transition. Colby had all the help he needed.

Sam set a hand on Colby's shoulder in comfort as the pair came over to Xepher and Amber, who were both curled up on the couch with a blanket. The pair had grown closer together since the night Xepher was laying bloody on their floor, and Amber seemed to have taken Xepher on her "wing." Together, they helped each other through quick control practice sessions in the day before the full moon with Colby observing them carefully like the ever-doting Alpha he was.

Sam slipped his hand from Colby's shoulder to wrap around Colby's waist instead and watched the pair on the couch. Their eyes were glowing, feeling the urges of the full moon. Colby could smell the fear on them and he didn't blame them. For Xepher, it was the first change fears. For Amber, it was the fear of killing someone again.

Colby needed to reassure them that this would be okay and that they had their friends with them every step of the way, "We won't let you hurt anyone and we won't let you hurt yourselves. Just remember what I told you--."

"Our treasure," Amber replied with a slight nod.

"And Xepher," Colby turned to her more fully, "I wish we had more time for you to practice... with you getting bitten so close..."

"I know, Colby," Xepher smiled softly to him, "I'm ready for the Change."

Amber smiled too, reaching out to grab Xepher's hand and squeeze it, "We're ready."

"This is giving all those teenage supernatural movies and shows I used to watch in high school a whole new meaning," Amber joked as she tossed her shoes over next to the bar.
