Rona looked at the diamond ring on her ring finger.
Guess this is... indeed the start of their marriage.
Whether it will be loveless or not, nothing could be predicted of the future.
At least now. They are bonded together.
"I wouldn't be around too much to bother you. I have worked most often during the day and I usually return home late. We can have our own separate spaces. And..." Seokhoon hesitated.
"About the heir part..."
He looked to Rona who went shy.
"We can take our time. I can rebel against my father anytime. He already forced a marriage he can't exactly force..." he stuttered a little. "That part."
Seokhoon tried to smile a little to ease the awkwardness, Rona, too, but it was all too sudden for the two of them to process.
"You can spend the afternoon settling down. The maids will bring in your belongings...I guess. Anything you need, just buy with this card." Seokhoon placed his golden black premium credit card on the table for Rona.
Seokhoon left his words and exited the compound leaving Rona to the quiet space.
Rona strolled around the environment, feeling the freshness of a newly built house. She went to the windows and opened one of them, letting the clean airflow into the house.
She breathes in the soft mists.
Her new life.
She looks to the ring on her finger, glistening along with the shimmering sunlight.
The wife of Joo Seokhoon.
Everything felt so surreal.
"Mam'?"
Rona turned to the sound.
It was the maids.
"Where shall we put your belongings?"
Rona went immediately to them. "I can..."
"No, it is our duty." They smiled. "We will put them upstairs in the bedroom."
Rona realised, her identity had changed.
She was a lady of a household now, not the free young working-class nor pianist.
"If you need us, just ring the commute and we will come straight away."
The maids arranged both Rona and Seokhoon's belongings into the new house.
They departed and Rona was left alone.
She explored the levels above, fascinated by the luxury one could ever have.
Just then, a message came in on her phone. Seokhoon somehow got her number. But it did not surprise Rona.
Hello, it's Seokhoon.
How is the house?
- Seokhoon
It's nice.
I choose the room on the left where sunlight shines on the second floor for my own purposes if you allow it.
- Rona
Sure.
- Seokhoon
