"You're Joo Seokhoon's wife?" Yonghwa stuttered at her own words.
"You're the guest?" Rona ran over to Yonghwa's side and embraced her. Innocent of Rona, she didn't know danger, was right before her.
Yonghwa couldn't believe that her own best friend had married the man she loved the most.
But she couldn't let her know, whatever was going to happen or had happened.
She rearranged her emotions and pretentiously patted on Rona's back.
"Yes... I am the guest." She broke off from the embrace and had a big smile on her face.
"Why didn't you tell me your husband is Joo Seokhoon?" She pouted, "our families are close! We could have held a great wedding party for the two of you."
Rona smiled shyly. "Well, Abeoji wanted to keep it lowkey. And, we had some difficult situation going on... it's hard to explain everything... but once this little life is born, maybe things will change and... Seokhoon and I will be... official?"
"Little life?" Yonghwa held her breath.
"Yes." Rona smiled naively. "I'm a few weeks pregnant!"
Yonghwa tried to hold back her tears. She embraced Rona into her arms, hiding her sad and furious emotions running inside of her.
"Congratulations my bestie. You deserve to be happy! You should have told me earlier! I would ask my father to walk you down the aisle for a grandiose wedding you should have with Seokhoon."
Rona giggled. "Aww thank you Yonghwa. But we like it simple. Now I am having a great life."
Yonghwa nodded, but she knew well, her heart had bad thoughts. Bad ones.
Her heart contemplated. She knew she shouldn't have these thoughts....
But humans, undeniably, are selfish.
Her best friend on one side, her crush, on the other.
Despite the growing thoughts in her, Yonghwa only smiled at Rona.
What could she do, when the fact was presented before her.
That night,
Seokhoon stood from his seat from the sofa. He had just slumped down onto it, trying to get a good night's rest, maybe enjoy some quiet time with Rona in the baby's room. They had just received several sonograms from the doctor since their last visit, and it was time to decorate the room with the photos.
But all these plans were disrupted with one sentence.
"We are going to the main house for dinner tonight." Rona spoke as she adjusted her dress before the mirror by the doorway.
"What?" Seokhoon exclaimed. He was hesitant. He was worried. He didn't know how to stop this situation.
"Why don't we stay home for dinner? You must take care of our baby." Seokhoon hugged Rona and whined, hoping she would ignore the idea of going to the main house.
Rona giggled at Seokhoon's silly flirts but she broke off from the embrace.
"Why didn't you tell me the guest was called Yoon Yonghwa?" Rona asked, smiling.
Confusion clouded over Seokhoon's face.
When did Rona know about this?
"What..."
