Desirability- Seokhoon x Rona ✔️

15: Desire is... protection

A month passed by faster than Rona had imagined.

After the family trip, she and Seokhoon's relationship seems to have been close. He cared for her a bit more, but they don't talk much. 

Still distant. 

When they returned to Hera Palace, it was pretty much again, back to the daily routines.

Resting early before Seokhoon comes back.
Feeling the bed sink in at midnight.
Waking up with him gone by her side.
Eating alone.

Perhaps if she was lucky he might be back for dinner or would be late for work and have breakfast. But the two still silently work on their own things, and communications were rare.

But Rona didn't mind.

Lately, her mind's been off. She felt drowsy and in a low mood. The less she could care about, the better.

And with Seokhoon not disturbing her, is one less thing to worry about.

"You don't look well, Rona," Mina spoke as they spoke in Mina's tea room in their daily morning chat.

The two ladies of the household made every morning their special time to bond and chat. Sometimes complain about their husbands. Just a usual lovely moment, just for them.

"Maybe my menstruation is coming," Rona smiled. "It's almost the time of the month."

Mina nodded.

But then she realised the sadness overwhelming Rona. "Are you sure it's not something else?"

Rona wondered what Mina meant.

"Loneliness?"

Indeed, Mina was much mature at her age. She could see things through and was well trained to observe people's every emotion.

Rona shook her head. "I know what I'm getting into, Mina." She smiled bitterly. "I think I miss the outside world more. After returning from our trip, I haven't felt like I've been living a true life."

Mina sighed. How could she not have understood? But she was only slightly luckier than Rona, to be wedded into love, while this young girl was forced into love.

She could see the two young couple feeling less awkward, but there was still a wall between them that had to be broken.

Mina suddenly recalled something.

"You were from Angel Orphanage right?"

Rona looked up surprised and nodded gently. Her eyes brightened.

"We can have a charity event there, I'll propose it and I'll go with you. Let's take you home for a while and you will feel much better."

"Really?" Rona sounded overjoyed at the sound of the news of it.

"Of course dear! Why should that be a problem? We will get Seokhoon to come as well. He should know more about you. You cannot keep avoiding him."

Rona looked away at the sound of it. "We...aren't really avoiding each other..." Rona didn't know how to express her thoughts. "It's just that we don't know much about each other."

"Then this will be a perfect time." Mina smiled brightly. She was positive this would bring the two closer together. At least let Seokhoon know more about his own wife.

"I heard from my husband he does charity at your orphanage before. I haven't personally been there before, but I thought it is about time I represent the Joo household to visit the orphanage. I love children myself. They are such precious angels." Mina smiled as she sips on her drink.
