"I know you want Rona back."

Chanseok spoke.

"For the past five years, she has been an important person to me. We had supported each other once we had left the Joo Household. We knew we were going into an unknown place with little support. But we did anyways."

Seokhoon felt very guilty as Chanseok spoke those words.

"But I knew the past five years were harsh for you as well."

Seokhoon looked at Chanseok, who was crossing his arms, looking at the kids.

"You finally took control of the enterprise, made great deals with people around the world, made the Joo name bigger than ever. I don't think you ever stopped working."

Chanseok then looked to Seokhoon, with determined eyes.

"I know you are repenting yourself by working, making a name for yourself, getting back your power. But when it comes to a relationship... you are far out of league."

"Hyung...I..."

"Rona and I have nothing but siblings love and care for each other. I've cared for her for the past five years, and I think you should know how much you had damaged her."

"I know."

"What's the point? You know your faults. You can't do anything to change the present, the past, nor the future."

"I can. If I am allowed." Seokhoon spoke with affirmation.

Chanseok looked at Seokhoon with query.

"What do you mean, Joo Seokhoon? I am not going to let Rona be some kind of mistress to you or be in the shadows anymore. She is not worthy of any mistreatment. If you dare to touch her, I wouldn't care about our past friendship, I will punch you again if I had to."

"Hyung. Please." Seokhoon looked at Chanseok genuinely. "Let me explain."

"What. What will you do? You know Yoon Yonghwa..."

"I never married Yoon Yonghwa. We never officially signed papers. We lived separately. We never consummated." Seokhoon took a deep breathe as he looked to the little boy he called son, "Yeonsu is adopted"

Chanseok couldn't believe it.

"And..."

"I've never signed the divorce papers with Rona.

The marriage between us is still protected under the law."

Chanseok stood in shock.

Unknown what should be spoken nor response he should have made.

He never thought, all of this, was really for a show.

Although back then, five years ago, he was ordered to stay with Rona as the 'marriage ceremony' between Seokhoon and Yonghwa was proceeding, but in truth, he didn't know much of the details within the collaboration. Even he was fooled that it was merely a business collaboration, until he saw the child and how the venue was decorated.

But now hearing from Seokhoon himself, he couldn't have imagined how Seokhoon had gone through five years without support. How he had slowly fought through all those lies alone. How he had lived in lies.

"Joo Seokhoon you..." Chanseok was stunned.

"Hyung...so you must understand why I am doing all this." Seokhoon spoke. "I have to admit, I was stupid. I was doomed from the start to not be able to love Rona. I was an idiot to fall into my father's traps once again and again. But now, I am free from his grip, I shall no longer live timidly. Please...give me another chance."
