Life goes on if you're one of the lucky ones.

Taehyung couldn't help it, those clandestine midnight visits felt oh so romantic and Tae was looking forwards to the nights in the hospital. He knew it was wrong and Jungkook took an unnecessary risk and after the second visit, Taehyung was determined to talk Jungkook out of them. He was still being hounded by the police officer daily and he had started to turn up at no fixed times during the day and even into the evenings. Not to mention if he got caught by actual medical staff.
But he forgot all of this when during the official visitation hours; a dear friend came to see him.
Soo-Hee stood in the doorway and for a moment Tae thought she was just a figment of his imagination, before he heard the soft sobbing sound coming from his best friend and then Soo-Hee was in his arms and he was being hugged almost desperately.
"You're alive, you are really alive," she whispered and looked at Tae.
"I am," Tae assured and watched her watching him. Soo-Hee looked so familiar and yet so different. There were a few new worry lines around her eyes that weren't there before.
"Soo-Hee-ssi," Taehyung said gently and cupped her face with one hand. They looked at each other both on the brink of bursting into tears when there was a sharp, short knock on the door and it opened to reveal Inspector Oh Kang-Dae.
Both friends turned in unison and Oh stared at them.
"Ah, I'm sorry ..." he said, obviously he had not expected a visitor there, especially not a visitor who was sprawled half over the patient.
"Soo-Hee, this is Inspector Oh Kang-Dae of Seoul Metropolitan PD," Tae said, deliberately squeezing her fingers and Soo-Hee smiled at Tae understanding before turning the full wattage of her smile towards the policeman.
"It's a pleasure, Inspector. My name is Lim Soo-Hee, I'm Kim Taehyung-ssi's ... friend."
Oh was slightly perturbed. Not because Lim Soo-Hee was particularly beautiful – she wasn't – but her whole persona seemed to match Kim Taehyung's so perfectly as if they were twins – or soul mates. They could have been siblings for all of the same vibe they were giving off.
Oh Kang-Dae watched the young couple who still held hands with each other. In his file on Kim Taehyung he had no information of a girlfriend or spouse, so he was surprised.
When he asked Kim if he could answer another round of questions while looking patiently at Lee Soo-Hee, the young woman just smiled at him in return and settled onto the bed right beside the doctor.
"I hope you don't mind me staying with Taehyung-ssi, Inspector?!" Lim Soo-Hee inquired with a smile that brooked no argument. "After all, I thought he was dead all these weeks and the police did little to find out who abducted him ..." She looked at Tae, then kissed the knuckles of his free hand.
Inspector Oh groaned inwardly. He would have preferred to interrogate Kim a bit rougher and harsher than he had done in the passed few days, but with Lee Soo-Hee present he had to stick to the interview with yet the same, boring questions.
"Err, yes, of course," Oh replied, nonplussed. "If Kim Taehyung-ssi has no concerns ..." He looked up to see Taehyung watching him from bright, knowing eyes.
