It was that scenario all over again. She couldn't fall asleep, but her mind is still conquered by thought. She doesn't know why she rattled out last minute, it is the logical thing to do but something, something was happening inside that building. She knows it.
It was a Sunday this time. But her mother was still away, the excuse was that there was an emergency and the patient really needed help. It might not be a lie, but she knows that her mom thinks she translated it another way.
She was alone again.
Pennie had a protein bar for breakfast, she didn't want to cook anything because she was feeling like being idle today. She also didn't want to even make a sandwich, she didn't have the motivation to do that either. She was lying down in the couch, watching TV. She changed channels multiple times already but none of it seem to make her forget about the building.
Trying to sleep last night was hard, but it wasn't as hard as the other night. This time she lepst earlier but not better. She had a dream. A dream of her going inside the building and people reaching out there hand as far as they can and shouting for her to help them. She woke up at the middle of the night for that. She got back to sleep easily, once she did, she had a dream again, this time much more quiet. She was there, she was the one asking for her to save herself. It was the boy version of her. The voice was deeper, a little taller and overall much more masculine feature.
The boy version of Pennie asked her to stay as quiet as possible and let him escape. He was free, to Pennie he was. He wasn't chained, the doors were open, and nobody seems to be there to be locking him up.
She was still worried for him not only in her dream, but also in real life. The idea of her having a long-lost twin brother made her giggle for a bit. It was too impossible. He looked too much like her to be real. Though, the middle-aged woman who was screaming so loudly scared her too, her twin seems to make her more uncomfortable. She, again, tried lying to herself by saying that she didn't care and that it was just a dream.
She got up from her overly-comfortable position and got to the phone. She called Johnny's house; she was closer to the girls but Lucy wouldn't understand her and laugh about it. Abigail would tell her she's just dreaming or that she was crazy.
Johnny would be the most understanding. She knew what he would say, but words from a stranger isn't the same as the words of a friend. She told him everything, everything being every single detail. From barely going to sleep to almost going inside the building. She understands that he was quite frustrated but he did calm down, he warned her to never come back and that the dreams were just aftermath of her own negative thinking and that Dreaming shouldn't be a reason for her to believe that it was real.
Pennie was still unsatisfied even after telling Johnny all her troubles, she felt like nobody understood her, which she knew was reasonable of others. She needed to come back. She knew that there was someone, maybe not the twin she had in her dream, but there was someone. Both dreams weren't exactly the same but both had someone asking for help, shouting or whispering, someone was still begging to be free.
All doors were all open, but maybe they're stuck.
After hours of thinking, which felt like minutes to her, she was there again. The same way she was yesterday. Calling her friend, packing things she kept from her mother, outside hiding the keys, and still carrying the same feeling as yesterday just this time she was much more scared.
Again does she meet the two paths, left or right, wrong or right, danger or safety. And again, she chooses left.
She appreciated the things she could look at while she can, in a later time, she won't be able to see animals anymore, only trees. And when she reaches the inside of the building she is sure that there will be no pleasant sightings around to see. In her mind, was a million questions and a million unsure answers she turned a blind eye on.
She already went through the forest and already went inside the gate, she was right there again. The feeling she had yesterday was back, she thought it was gone because of the increase of desire she had; the dream she had alst night pushed her more. Her mother was already lied at; she told Johnny she wouldn't go, and so did she to her other friends. It was only her on her side.
Right side of her body is facing the gate, and the left side is for the building. She chose last time already, she left. She want to go to the building, but is it the right choice?
Running against all odds, all bad thoughts, she enters the building running, and running for it was quite a distance. She was in front of the door of the actual building now; she wasn't sure if it would open but the metal door was all rusty and looked like it hasn't been touched for a while. The door was dirty but the handle did look as dirty; it took some worry out of Pennie's mind because if someone entered for even as often as little as once a week, it would be less dirty than it already is. The door creeks and the door opens.
