Getting Ready (Nya x Skylor)

Skylor rubbed her eyes and she strolled into the kitchen. She noticed her wife standing by the kitchen counter, focusing on something.

The red-haired didn't know what the time was, but all she knew was that it was still dark (due to it being winter), so he first assumption is that it was early and Nya had woken up.

"Nya?" She calls out, her voice still groggy from just waking up. Nya turned her head around and smiled, waving slightly. Oh thank God, she's not upset.

"Hey Sky," Nya replies, approaching her with a kiss. "You're up late."

Skylor raised her eyebrow. "But it's dark?" Her questioning tone made Nya laugh.

Nya nods. "It's 7:30am. Nova and *blank* have school at 8:15, meaning we have to be out the door before 8, and even that's pushing it." She explains. Once she states this, Skylor's eyes widen.

"SEVEN-THIRTY?!" Her mind begins to panic, she's never slept in this long before since having kids!

"Mom!" A high pitched feminine voice yells from another room, the volume getting louder until the mentioned women is met with her 7 year olds daughter.

Nya scoffs, looking down at them.

"Nova!" Skylor smiles, lifting her up while they hug. "It's weird for you to not wake me up."

Nova laughs and shrugs. "Mommy said to let you sleep in, cause you apparently was sick." She states, pointing to Nya.

Skylor (who is in fact blushing) looks at Nya to smiles innocently; they both know that wasn't the case.

"Anyway," Nya coughs. "Nova, what snack do you want for your lunch? Your brother Rei is having Oreos, so your options are rather popcorn or mini marshmallows."

Nova's eyes light up, and she immediately reaching for the small popcorn bag. "Popcorn!"

"Where is Rei anyway?" Skylor asks, putting Nova down. Nya looks up at her. "Oh, he's just playing with some blocks in the living room. I've given them their breakfast, and I've dressed him, so all he needs now is some help packing his bag. I've packed his lunch."

"Ooh! What's Rei got for lunch???" Nova asks curiously.

"He's got some ham sandwiches with ham and lettuce, his fruit is pineapple slices, his sweet is some Oreos and he's also got some raisins." Nya explains to her daughter. "Your food is a surprise."

Nova giggles. "Okay!" She then skips out the room and upstairs, presumably to get dressed.

Skylor quickly pecks Nya on the cheek. "I'll go help Rei pack. Where's his lunch?" Nya points to the side, and that lets the taller grab it and exit.

"By the way, you're still sweating."

"Hey!"

Skylor blushes and laughs as she walks into the living room, seeing her youngest child play around on the floor with his cars. That was until he saw his mother, and then he immediately doused his entire attention on her. "Mom!" The six year old calls out.

The mother smiles and sits down next to him while he shuffles closer to her. "Help me." He says, pointing to his bag.

Skylor picks it up and opens it, sorting out the books that were already in there. Then, she collected all of his stationary from the draws and dropped them into his pencil case before putting that into the bag carefully. Next, she grabbed the spare pair of clothes that Nya has thoughtfully placed on the armchair and slotted them next to his books. And finally, she added his lunch and his water bottle.

"Is that all?" Skylor asked, showing Rei his backpack. The boy scanned it carelessly and then nodded. "Ye,"

This caused the woman to raise her eyebrow. "What about your PE kit?" She asks with a suspicious tone.

But before the young boy could answer, Nya walks in. "I have to go to the doctors at 1, and I wouldn't be able to get back in time to get him and Nova. And you're at work. So I may as well just pick them up early." She says, with Nova following quickly later. She had her uniform on and her big backpack slung over her shoulders.

"Oh yeah," The realisation hit Skylor quickly and she smiled awkwardly. "Sorry, I forgot."

Nya kneels down next to her and pecks her cheek. "It's okay." She whispers. "Hopefully it's nothing bad." The red-haired nods in agreement, holding her hand with reassurance.

Nya exhaled before standing up again. "Alright Sky, go get ready." She orders, smirking.

"What time is it?"

"8:47."
