Late Night Fright - JM {Halloween Special}

Third Person POV:

October 31st, a dark, gloomy night that contains monsters,
or so they say.
Here, in LA, the street lights shine through the street and sounds of children's laughter can be heard from all directions as they collect candy from their neighbours.
Y/n is heading to her best friends' house to have a horror movie night in celebration of the holiday.
Once she arrives at the house, she knocks on the door and Daniel answers.
"Hey Dani!"
"Y/n!"
They both speak in joy as they hug one another.
"Come on in," Daniel says as he holds his hand out like an arrow pointing in the direction of the kitchen.
"Hey guys," y/n says enthusiastically as she greets them all at the kitchen counter.
They shout "hey" conjointly back.
Y/n walks towards her boyfriend whom is leaning against the kitchen surface and states "hey Jonah," before pecking him on the lips.
Jonah immediately pulls back with crossed eyebrows.
"Why'd you call me Jonah?" he asks.
"Uh, because that's your name," y/n says playfully.
"You never call me Jonah," he bluntly states.
"Am I in trouble?" he asks sheepishly.
Y/n scoffs, "relax," she says whilst she gently taps his chest.
But he can't relax.
"Haven't you ever heard of a Halloween prank?" y/n asks whilst trying to hold in her laughter but the other guys don't hold in theirs.
"You got me," Jonah chuckles and pecks y/n's lips.

"So, who's ready to be spooked?" asks Jack.
"I am!" Zach waves his hand in the air excitedly.
Corbyn grabs the popcorn out of the microwave, "me too!"
"I am not," states Jonah.
"Come on, it'll be fine," y/n reassured him and grabs his hand to walk towards the couch.

The groups gathers around the tv, Zach and Jack on the floor, Daniel on the chair and y/n, Jonah and Corbyn on the couch.
"Turn the lights off," Zach shouts to Daniel.
Daniel turns out the lights and puts on the movie.
"What are we watching?" y/n asks whilst grabbing a handful of popcorn from the bowl on the coffee table.
"Halloween, of course," Corbyn replies whilst copying her actions.
Jack turns around and says "it's a good one."
"I can't wait to watch," says y/n as she settles into her seat and stuffs her face with popcorn.

The group have been silently watching the horror movie for half an hour until the jump scares begin.
'Bang' goes the tv and Jonah jumps in his seat.
Y/n looks at him and notices the scared look on his face.
"Are you okay?" she whispers to him.
He doesn't look away from the screen, he just nods in response.
A few minutes later, y/n notices Jonah's leg begin to shake.
So, she firmly places her hand on his thigh to stop it from shaking and rubs her thumb back and fourth to comfort him.
He turns to face her with a slight smile as a 'thank you'.
Y/n returns the smile and grabs his hand tightly before returning her attention to the tv.

A few moments later there's a scuffle outside.
"What was that?" Zach asks.
Everyone turns to face the glass doors that lead to the garden but nothing is to be seen.
"There's nothing there," says Jack.
They all look at each other confused.
Corbyn speaks up, "what if it's a ghost or something, it is Halloween night."
Y/n slaps him for his idiotic response, "it's not a ghost," she states whilst squeezing Jonah's hand tighter.

Before Daniel can press play on the tv again, there's another strange noise from outside.
"There it is again!" Zach says in worry.
"Let me have a look," Jack says as he gets up.
They all follow and gather around him.
Y/n and Jonah are still holding hands intensely.
"There!" shouts Daniel and he points to a crawling shadow, "something's moving!"
"What the..." speaks a confused y/n.
"It's the monster from the movie," says Jonah quietly.
Everyone looks at him silently before looking back outside.
The next thing they know there's a tall, dark silhouette jumping onto the door.
There are screams all around as they jump away from the door.
A man stands tall in front of them, just glass between them, and lowers his hood to reveal...
"Eben?!" Corbyn shouts in a shocked state.
"You idiot!" Jonah shouts.
"You scared us half to death, dummy," explains y/n.
Eben just laughs as he opens the doors.
"So, what y'all up to?" he asks casually whilst the others remain stoic from the shock.
