Y/n rushes through the door, "sorry I'm late." "Traffic was a nightmare," she explains before quickly pecking Jack on the lips and placing her things down onto the table. "Where are the kids?" she asks whilst slowly calming down from her fluster. "Putting on their costumes, they'll be out now," Jack explains. "Mommy!" Jasmine shouts whilst running into the first room. "Jazzy!" y/n says excitedly as she picks her up to hug. "I love your outfit, tinker-bell," y/n says whilst adjusting her dress. "Can you do my hair now?" Jasmine asks ever so sweetly. "Of course, grab the hair stuff from the bathroom." Jasmine rushes off just as Jasper enters the room holding Jack's hand. "Momma," he says whilst grabbing his hands out. "There's my baby," y/n says enthusiastically as she picks him up and gives him a kiss on the cheek. "Wow, Peter-pan, how smart you look," says y/n to which Jasper laughs.
The family sit on the couch, chatting whilst y/n does the kids hair and makeup. "How was your day?" Jack asks y/n. She sights, "It was okay." "Yours?" she asks back. "Mine was good," he smiles. "All done," y/n says.
Y/n and Jack quickly slip on skeleton onesies to please the kids. "Let's get some pictures," Jack says as he grabs his phone out of his pocket. The family have a Halloween photo shoot before heading out to trick or treat around the neighbourhood.
Jasmine enthusiastically knocks on the door with one hand and holds Jasper's hand in the other. And after just an hour, they have buckets full of sweets. Y/n and Jack new it would be hard to get them to leave tonight so they persuaded them with more junk food. "Who wants McDonald's?" Jack asks. The kids jump up and down, shouting "me!"
Jack starts the car whilst y/n buckles up the kids. "I heard that they're doing slimy chicken nuggets," says y/n in a 'spooky voice' with 'creepy' hand gestures. As a result, both of the kids scream and y/n laughs at them.
They arrive at McDonald's and sit at a table. "I am starving," says y/n as she begins to devour her burger and Jack laughs at her. "Did you have fun trick or treating?" y/n asks. "Yeah!" Jasmine replies. "What's your favourite candy you got?" Jack asks. "Snickers," says Jasmine. "What about you, Jasper?" y/n asks. "Twizzlers," he says happily. "Oh I almost forgot, Mommy, did you know that Jasmine had star of the week at school today for her maths skills," Jack explains. Y/n drops her burger immediately. "Oh wow Jasmine! I'm so proud of you!" y/n replies and kisses Jasmine on the cheek. "Show us your skills," Jack says. Jasmine then states the 3 times table and her parents congratulate her.
Later that evening, everyone is home, clean and ready for bed. Jasmine and Jasper are in Jasmine's room watching Hocus Pocus in a homemade 'fort', before they go to bed whilst y/n and Jack are watching tv on the couch with cups of hot chocolate.
Y/n lays on Jack's chest and speaks just a little above a whisper. "Do you think the kids had a nice time tonight?" "Of course they did, it was fun!" Jack replies. "You sure?" she asks. "Why are you treating?" he asks. Y/n sits up to look at him, "I just never had any good memories of Halloween and I want my kids to have the best," she explains. "I'm sorry love but our kids do have the best," he reassures her as he pulls strands of her hair away from her face. "Don't stress okay," he says softly before gently kissing her on the lips. She pulls away to say "I love you." "I love you too." "And now you have good memories, right?" says Jack. "Right." she smiles. _____________________________________ A/N: Happy Halloween!
