Your POV:
I woke up to the sound of my one year old crying.
I turn to the alarm clock sat on the bedside table. It read 6:30 which isn't too bad compared to the usual 5am wakings.
I turn back to my right side to see Jonah peacefully asleep. I decide to let him sleep because he was working late last night.
So, I quietly creep out of bed and put my slippers on as the wooden floor is as cold as ice.
I gently open the door handle and head to my daughter's bedroom.
The crying stops and giggles appear as I step towards her.
"Good Morning, Ivy," I say joyfully as I pick her up.
"Are you hungry?" I ask Ivy to which she nods excitedly.
Then, we head to the couch.
We lay down with a blanket and I put on her favourite tv show.
I hold her in my arms and feed her a bottle of milk.
She's currently in the stage where she has started eating baby food but occasionally has a bottle.
She intensely drinks from the bottle as I stare into her beautiful brown eyes. The morning is peaceful.
The rain splatters onto the window but the birds are still chirping as it becomes lighter outside.
Ivy and I are still cuddled up on the couch watching tv when Jonah walks in.
"Good Morning you two," he says whilst he sits next to me.
Ivy turns to face him with the biggest smile on her face.
He picks her up and places her on his lap.
Then, he kisses my forehead softly to which I respond with a content smile.
We quietly lay for the next couples of hours as the sun rises. It's now 11 o'clock and we have decided to go for a walk and some lunch in town.
I was getting ready whilst Jonah got Ivy ready for the day.
I'm doing my hair in the bathroom when I hear Ivy run in shouting 'Mama'.
She looks up at me with a bright smile and enthusiastically points at her woolly hat.
"Dada, hat," is all she can say.
"Dada put a hat on you?" I question as I kneel down to face her.
She responds with a nod.
"It's very cute!" I say.
"You're very cute," I say whilst gently squishing her cheeks.
She giggles and I give her a kiss before she runs back out of the room.Ten minutes later and we're all ready to leave.
We begin with a stroll in the park.
Jonah pushes Ivy in her stroller/pram whilst I hold onto his arm.
There's a brisk wind whilst we walk through the leaf-covered pathway.
It's peaceful until Ivy starts pointing at something. I lean down and ask "what is it?"
She mumbles and repeats her actions as a response.
"Oh, it's a squirrel," I say.
Jonah also leans down next to Ivy's stroller at the opposite side to me.
"Look it has a friend," Jonah points in front of us.
"Two squirrels," I state and Ivy attempts to say 'squirrel' but fails.
Thus, me and Jonah laugh.
"Baby it's, squirrel," Jonah says 'squirrel' slower to help her understand.
"Squirrel," she says.
Jonah and I cheer once she gets it correct.
"That's it!" Jonah confirms.
"Well done, Ivy!" I say and she smiles proudly.
We continue our walk through the park until we come across a small cafe on the other side of the road.
So, we head inside for some lunch.Once the three of us are sat down we order food and settle in.
It's relatively quiet until loud splatters of rain hit the window that's beside us.
"Got here just in time," I say as Jonah and I look out of the window at the gushes of rain.
"We'll be running home if it doesn't stop," Jonah says with a chuckle.
"Uh no, you'll be running home but Ivy and I will be catching the bus."
"It's only a 10 minute walk," Jonah argues.
"For you," I say with a smirk to which he shakes his head and chuckles. After we all finish our food Ivy starts to get restless.
"I think that's our cue," Jonah says.
So, I grab Ivy from her high-chair whilst Jonah asks for the bill.
Then, I place Ivy back in her stroller and place a rain cover over it.
Jonah and I pull up our coat hoods and leave the cafe in a hurry.
We skip the park path and walk on the sidewalk of the main roads to get home quicker.
I'm holding onto Jonah's arm again until I drop my purse.
"Wait, I dropped my purse," I explain and leave go of his arm.
I walk back a few steps to where I dropped my purse.
I bend down to pick it up and in the few seconds I do so, a truck drives past through a huge puddle.
As you can imagine, I'm soaked.
I slowly rise with my purse in hand.
I turn to face Jonah and slouch because of my wet clothes.
I look up to see Jonah has a slight grin on his face as if he's hiding a laugh.
I waddle towards him, "it's not funny."
"It kind of is," he chuckles.
"It'll be funny once I'm dry again."
Jonah continues to laugh, "sorry, darling," he says whilst wrapping an arm around my shoulder and I feel his warmth radiate onto me.
We continue our quick walk home as the rain continues to pour.As soon as we get home I get in the shower and put on clean clothes.
Once I'm done, I walk into the living room to see Jonah stood in front of me.
"I just put Ivy down for her nap," he explains.
"Okay," I reply.
We stand staring at one another in silence.
Then, I couldn't hold it much longer, I burst out laughing.
At first Jonah looks confused.
"I was - like a - drowned - rat!" I say through laughter.
Jonah finally catches on and laughs with me.
A few seconds later, I walk towards him and say "I told you it would be funny when I was dry."
Jonah chuckles, "you did say that."
"Now let's cuddle," I say as I grab his hand and walk towards the couch.
I push him down onto the couch and he opens his arms for me to almost jump in.
Jonah puts the tv on before stroking my hair as I lay on his chest.
"Do you want a hot chocolate?" He asks softly.
"In a minute," I say as I snuggle further into his chest.
He chuckles lightly in response and kisses my hair softly.
