There he was, drinking a tall glass of what I believe to be Coca Cola whilst sat on a stool, politely chatting to the man behind the bar. I walk into the restaurant with my usual cautious stance, my head facing the floor and my arms folded. Once he saw me, he immediately rose from his seat and offered me the one next to him. He was very keen to introduce himself and he did so in a friendly manner. "You look pretty," he stated as he stared at me with his piercing blue eyes. I was in shock because usually men would compliment me for me figure instead and not in a polite way at all. But he seemed different. He made me laugh, he complimented me again, he made me blush, he complicated me some more and he made me smile like a Cheshire Cat. I was astonished to say the least. No date of mine had ever treated me this nicely!
After we ate, we split the bill and got ready to leave. "Have you got a ride home or would you like me to take you?" he asked. "My friend's picking me up but thank you for the offer." We walked out into the cold night, I was putting my coat on whilst he carried my purse. He handed me my purse back and I thanked him for a lovely evening. He said he had a good time and would like to see me again. I was eager to agree. The wind gushed my hair over my face so he gently swooped the strands of loose hair away. Then, he slowly leaned towards me and softly pecked my lips. "Goodnight, y/n," he said before leaving. It wasn't until that night that I realised I hadn't been on a date before.
4 years later, I'm the happiest I've ever been because I'm fallen in love with two people, Daniel and myself. Daniel taught me how I should be treated. No-one has ever made me feel the way he does. It's hard to explain but, You know when it's the middle of the morning and you're laying in bed, in the dark and you feel like you can't move a single muscle or you'll make a loud noise and disturb those around you but you can hear the rain splatter onto your window and you can feel the duvet sink into your warm skin and you feel a sense of peace and tranquillity. That's how I feel about him. There's this juxtaposition of feeling under pressure to be this perfect person because just the thought of ever hurting him in some way, kills me yet I know I feel most safe within this relationship as it's like a comfortable hug to me.
