EIGHT MONTHS HAD passed since the farm was destroyed and with it, their hopes.

The survival of the group relied in their bravest people. Surviving meant find a house near the one they had been in before, clear it with Rick at the front. Then, Daryl with his crossbow. T-Dog, Ben, Carl and Melissa at last with her newfound weapon. Then Glenn and Maggie would clear the backyard and around from any walker near. Once clear, Rick would whistle the rest in.

Keeping quiet meant staying alive. There were so many moments were all they wanted to do was scream—scream in anger and frustration, curse at the world and ask why they couldn't have the sanctuary they so much needed. But silence was all they needed to survive, so quiet Melissa was.

Nothing lasted longer than the farm, they didn't even count themselves lucky enough as to find a place like the Quarry. The most they had been was a whole week locked in some storage units, it was warm and cozy, keeping them guarded from the winter but like everything else, it was taken away from them.
