The metallic clang of pots and pans echoed through the air, a makeshift symphony of chaos that Luna found oddly therapeutic. At her side, Carl and Maggie joined in, their combined yelling and clattering designed to lure the walkers toward their side of the fence. Meanwhile, Glenn, Daryl, and Michonne worked furiously in the yard, weaving barbed wire around the prison courtyard—a contingency in case the Governor decided to make another surprise visit.
Luna stole a glance toward the yard and caught Michonne in action. The swordswoman pulled her katana back and unleashed a lethal arc, the blade slicing through the heads of three walkers in a single, seamless motion. No hesitation, no wasted effort.
"Damn," Luna muttered to herself, impressed, as she watched Michonne wipe her blade clean before slipping into the truck Ben was driving. Glenn and Daryl clambered in after her, their grim focus never wavering.
As the truck rumbled back toward the fence, the sound of pots and pans quieted. Luna, Carl, and Maggie hurried up the walkway, darting inside just as Melissa appeared from the block. She'd been lounging with Beth moments before, letting the younger girl braid her blonde hair into an intricate French plait. Spotting the returning truck, Melissa bolted to the gate and yanked it open, her eyes scanning the yard warily before waving them through.
