Zim smiled as he looked out the window of his ship. He had finally arrived, Zim switched his voot cruiser off of auto pilot while he typed in some coordinates on the screen. "Earth, is just as blue and dirty as I remember." He scoffed "I can't belive I'm actually back" Zim finished typing his instructions before commanding his ship "Track the Dib human and bring me as close as you can without getting spotted." A strained monotone robotic voice agreed before echoeing his request and computing for a second, Zim sighed and thought out loud to himself as his ship homed in on the Dibs location "I wonder how the Dib has been... I believe its been several Earth years since Zim left.."
Zim hopped out of his ship and looked at his portable tracker, it had a cylinder purple handle that a clear sheet with glowing Irken wrighting extended from. "Ship, transfer the Dibs location to me, I'll seek him out on my own from here" a light flashed on the portable tracker as the Dibs location came up, Zim looked around the woods before marching forward his pink eyes glued to the screen.
Eventually Zim reached the edge of the woods where he looked up a hill into the backyard of a decently sized modern grey house with a deck and large windows. Zim deduced that it was the Dib's house and tilted his head slightly "This must be the Dib's house then, it's kinda big..." the small irken took in a deep breath of courage "I should probably go knock on the front door."
Zim walked along the side of the house passing some large shrubs when he heard the click of a sliding door and an excited cheer.
Zim twitched his antenna and turned his head to the sound "Get back here!" Zim heard a different voice call out, Zim ducked into the bushes and peeked out around the corner where he saw two figures sit down on the lawn. The smaller one which appeard to be a young boy, around the age of six or seven, was wearing a pair of space themed pajamas, had dark black hair that was styled into a swooped mowhawk, and had bright golden eyes that glinted behind a pair of large round glasses. the boy pointed up at the star filled sky looking at the other figure "Hey dad, do you think I'll be able to go up there one day?" The other figure turned and put on a smile that Zim recognized instantly, He was someone whose face could not easily be forgotten. He had dark black hair a ribbon of it streaked above his head as if risen by the wind leaving the rest short to his head, his cheeks where more defined in his age reflecting the light off his pale skin, and his eyes, once filled with copper shine, stood worn as if still lost despite his joy. "I do" he said turning back to the sky "I belive that one day you'll get to go to outer space"
The small boy grinned enthusiastically "Do you think I'll be able to find aliens!?" The man looked down at his son and nodded "Yep, do you want to know why?"
"Why?" The boy asked excitedly, his father smiled "Because I've met an ailen before" the boys eyes lit up "You have! What was it like?"
"Well.." the father said as if deep in thought "He was small and green, he had deep red eyes and anteni instead of ears, he liked to scream alot, and he wanted to take over the world."The boy looked at his father in awe "Woa! Really!? Did you try and stop him daddy?"
"Yea, so don't you worry because he's all gone now, your daddy scared him right back into outer space."
Zim jumped as he heard a female voice call from the house "Yea but he might come back to abduct little boys who stay up past their bed time" the boy got up and ran to whom Zim assumed could only be his mother, she rustled his hair and turned to her husband who still sat by himself on the lawn "You coming?" She asked him politely "Nah, I think I'm gonna stay out for just a little while longer." He replied smiling softly, she nodded and closed the door before he let out a sigh his smile instantly dropping from his face and his eyes casting a melancholy glance up at the sky. Zim wanted to call out but the words seemed to catch in his throat, Zim turned back around the corner just out of sight
The man turned his head as he heard the bushes rustle "Hello-" but his voice was cut off as his wife called to him within the house, acknowledgeing that his wife reqired his presence he turned and walked inside, the sound quickly forgotten.Zim was curled up in the seat of his voot cruiser sobs echoing in the ship around him "What am I supposed to do now" he cried to himself "The Dib has a smeet and a mate" Zim could feel his voice choking on the words as he sobbed "But I don't know what I was expecting" he said wiping away his tears and burying his face in his arms "Its been thirteen Earth years... of course the Dib had grown up.."
Zim sobbed to himself running the events through his head till an idea caught in his mind and a wicked grin slid across his face. Zim chuckled menacingly to himself as he looked up the tears lost to his new brilliant plan.
His voice was practically a snarl as he repeated the dib-mates words "Bedtime huh...?".
