To Which Our Future Holds (A ZaDr Story)

Chapter 8

Zim groaned as his eyes slowly began to blink open, his body felt limp and his mind drowsy. "Hnn?" Zim thought as he looked around before shock bolted throgh his body Snapping him into a sudden consciousness. "I fell Asleep!?" Zim panniced as he looked over his body inspecting it "But irkens only sleep if we get injured and need repair" Zim checked his arms legs and torso but didn't spot any damage to his suit that would indicate deep cuts or wounds. Zim only stoped for a while to rub his sore eyes which where slightly irritated from spending so much time sleeping with his contacts in.
The next thing Zim checked was his pak, because unlike humans who's bodies where perfectly adapted to thier  environment, Zim required the round metal machine that was fused to his spine in order to properly process all his bodily functions like breathing walking and communication, it also operated as a sort of second mind storing all Zim's memories as well as any other info he would need as an irken soldier, and uniquely to Zim because of his previous job in the irken empire he was also a pretty good cook. After confirming that no damage had befallen his pack Zim turned his attention to his situation, because the next thing he had to do when assessing his next move was to figure out where he was in the first place.
Zim looked around and found he was in a small empty room with tan colored walls, the only objects he spotted in the room where the bed and the door. It was completely empty aside from that, turning his gaze up Zim noticed a camera in one of the corners and a thin slit window much too small and high to be of any use.
Zim's mind started turning trying to find out what was going on with the small bit of info he had. "Is someone watching Zim? Has someone figured something out? Is this the Dib's doing?" Zim found he had alot more questions then awncers at this point, so he took a step back trying to remember what happened before he fell asleep, "I was in the forest" Zim thought, "And then I got bored and went to the park" Zim's eyes furrowed as he pictured what happened with the Stranger and the officers, his mind was oddly fuzzy and his memories scrambled "Why did my mind think of the tallest in that situation?"
"Great" Zim thought "More questions" Zim jumped as he heard the door click open and let out an involuntary yelp, he wasn't expecting anyone to come in. Zim recognized the man who came in as the officer who helped him at the park, Staliz, Zim remembered. "Hey Zim it's just me did you sleep ok?" Zim's mind switched from assessment to accusation "Where are you keeping Zim?!" He yelled pointing at the officer, Staliz didn't seem to bothered by Zim's yelling and answered him quite simply "You're at the police station right now, you fell asleep on the way here, I just wanted to check up on you now that you're awake." Zim found himself quite nervous with that, from his previous stays on Earth Zim had learned that both the government and police where tied together and being an alien from another planet, Zim really didn't want to get wrapped up with either.
Officer Staliz crouched down till he was kneeling down on the floor in front of Zim "Zim listen, me and the other officers are just worried about you your not in any trouble or anything, we just want to make sure your safe."
Zim perked up slightly, sure the officer was being nice and sincere but that's not what caused the sudden interest from Zim. Still on the ground in front of Zim officer Staliz waited patiently for his response while Zim looked over him.
Zim's shoulders loosened and he looked over to the side seeming to find Staliz as less of a threat "Zim is fine, Zim just-" Zim cut himself off eyes narrowing, sure he wasn't a threat, but Zim was not about to reveal any info that could put him in danger, Zim was still being held captive after all.
Seeing that Zim wasn't going to say anything else officer Staliz figured it was safe for him to continue, "Listen Zim, I have a friend who's going to come in and talk to you ok" Zim because furious with this news "What!" Zim yelled "Your lying!" He shrieked "Release Zim At Once!" Officer Staliz tried to calm him down "I'm not lying Zim I promise" waving his hands Zim hissed again "You're Lying!"
Zims fit was interupted as the door clicked open and a new person walked into the room making Zim's whole body drop like ice. "I-Its y-you" Zim stuttered his eyes wide and body stiff. Officer Staliz turned to see who had walked in only to see it was just who he was expecting, "Oh I didn't know you two had met before" officer Staliz said smiling to his friend, "I guess that means I don't have to introduce you." And with those words Zim felt the world stop around him as both his and the new person's eyes locked gazes, one far more pleased to meet than the other.
