Dib bent over panting as he arrived at the police station, an ambulance was parked outside and several officers rushed around as he pushed past them to get inside.
Ash sat in a chair hugging his bag when he saw his father arrive looking extremely worried. "Daddy!" He called out jumping off the chair and running into his father's outstretched arms. "Ashtion!" Dib called out using his son's full name as they embraced, clearly relived that he was safe. "Ashtion, do you know where's your mom is?" Dib asked rubbing his sniffling sons back. But before Ash could answer, Dib turned to the sound of someone calling his name, finding himself far beyond relived to see it was his wife. "Sweetheart!" He called standing up to meet her, holding her head in his hands, his worried eyes looked through hers as he made sure she was okay. "Sweetheart are you alright? When an officer called and told me that an incident happened and that you got hurt I- I came here as fast as I could!"
All Lizzy could do was stare at her husbands wide eyes, tears beaded up in their corners. She finnaly was able to turn away when Ash tugged on her skirt impatiently his whimpers overruling her husband's. "Y-yea I'm alright" she stuttered to Dib, as she kneeled down to comfort Ash.
"Are you sure?" Dib insisted "The officer seemed really worried about your client."
"Yea don't worry," Lizzy hushed as she held onto Ash who griped his arms tightly around her. "It was mostly my fault anyways, I should have been more careful." Dib furrowed his brows "Where Did you get hurt?" He said crouching down with her.
Lizzy felt her cheeks warm up, Dib was usually such a reserved person. Lizzy almost felt like she was back in high school, blushing at a cute boy who offered to pick up her books. Lizzy offered Dib her bandaged arm. "It wasn't too bad it's just a scratch, it'll heal up pretty quick."
With a slight nod Dib helped her up, Ash still held in her arms "Do you want me to take you home?" He asked. Lizzy nodded when an officer came over and stopped her, "Wait before you go could you tell us where you last saw the kid?" Lizzy nodded nervously "He should still be in room B.23, but can't you just check on the security cameras?" The officer shook his head "All the Cameras in B hall are completely unresponsive or frozen." Lizzy bit her lip, "Well you're not going to hurt him right?" The officer narrowed his eyes, "Listen that Kid is dangerous, he's harmed several offers including yourself, we don't want to hurt him but if he puts others in danger like that-" Lizzy cut him off "It's not his fault, he's just scared, Zim needs to be Helped not hurt!"
Dib stepped back both figuratively and literally as the officer and Lizzy contined to talk "What did Lizzy just say?" He thought to himself "It couldn't be true could it?"
"Sweetheart?" Dib asked his mind almost in a daze "What, did you just say the kids name was?"
"His name is Zim" another officer who was sitting down next to them said "I found him by himself at a park the other day, he was really freaked out and acting wierd, I thought it would help to bring him in." The yong officer held one of his arms in a splint "It's my fault this happened."
The other officer who had first came to talk to Lizzy shook his head the the younger officer "It's not you're fault Staliz. You didn't know what was going to happen."Dib seemed to freeze in place "This can't be possible," he thought "It just can't be." Dib took in a breath before his chilling calm voice began to speak, making everyone turn and look at him in surprise "Black Hair, Green Skin, And Violet Eyes" Dib spoke his voice flat.
"You, know Zim?" Lizzy questioned looking at her husband, his eyes hidden behind the way the light now glinted off his glasses. "Dib?" She questioned again, his silence chilling her. Dib turned and started to walk towards the B hall, Lizzy grabing his arm. "Wait, Dib where are you going?" Dib stoped and turned to Lizzy every ounce of him seeming lost as thier eyes connected, the copper in his gaze seemed frozen over like cold metal piercing through her in a way that made her want to run. She didn't understand what was happening, her husband had never acted this way before.
Without another word Dib pulled away from her, her hand falling limp to her side as the dark shadow of her husband walked away his black trench coat whisping behind him. But Lizzy just stood there, too afraid to move. Staliz looked up at Lizzy "Are you sure we should let him do that?" He asked. Lizzy shook her head just as unsure "I. don't know."They all stood silently in the room as Dib's figure disappeared down the hall, each to their own concern, not noticing at how particular, Ash was frozen too.
