"Christine!" Anya shouted as you and her hurried through the corridor of the hospital with some paramedics as Liana was on a stretcher with wheels, headed straight towards the operation room.

Christine closed her eyes, exasperated. "Are you kidding me, Not again," She turned around and noticed the scene before her and gasped, "Oh God," She said as she ran to the stretcher and wheeled it to the room.

You and Anya watched the doctors begin to perform the necessary procedure from the window of the doors of the operation room.

Wanda strode towards you and Anya, standing between you both, "Bucky and the kids are okay. And so is Mrs. Herbert,"

You let out an exhale of relief, nodding at her in acknowledgment. When you turned back to the operation room, you noticed the electrocardiograph glitched for a moment before it returned to normal.

Trusting your instincts, you concentrated and pushed your astral form out as your physical body began to bend backward.

You noticed that Liana's astral form was levitated in front of the window of the operation room. You levitated yourself to reach her and joined her side, "You have to return to your physical form now. You don't have time,"

"Time is relative," Liana replied, "Wanda just caught your body,"

"You're not gonna want to fight me here, right?" You asked Liana.

Liana only gave you a side grin, watching the scenery of the snow settling in front of her as dark clouds gathered in the sky.

A few seconds later, you decided to speak up, "I'm sorry, for whatever it means to you," you admitted with a guilty purse of your lips.

"Emotions can blind us. Love, Rage, Grief, Vengenace," she uttered knowingly, "Can drive us down a path of madness,"

You furrowed your brows slightly, "That's oddly poetic,"

"I know," she paused, "Death is a plague that poisons us with grief. It's a disgrace; An insult to the very idea of existence," Liana sighed deeply, "My uncle used to say that. And he was right,"

"I used to crave for a reason to die," you stared ahead at the night sky, "I used to be desperate. For an escape. From the misery. But now I have four reasons to live," you smiled at the thought of your fiance and children, "There isn't one thing I wouldn't do for them,"

"I can see that," Liana nodded,  "But at one point, we all give into the darkness and let it consume us. I'm sorry too, by the way. I ruined Christmas for your family," she added, almost solemnly.

"Well, my kids got a chance to fight and use their powers that was something not about food, or teasing each other,"

"Are you afraid of death?"

"Not really," you answered, "Death is an old friend who pays visits, uninvited," you spoke grimly, "In my case, more frequently,"

Mama and Papa, Alina, Pietro, Vision, Natasha, Steve—

"I was never really afraid of death," Liana admitted, "But here I am, stretching out my last moments so that I can watch the lightning streak in slow motion as the snow settles on the city,"

You turned to ask her what she had meant by that, but then Liana's astral for was nowhere to be seen.

Back in the operation theatre, a long beep sounded from the electrocardiograph as Liana's body went limp against the bed and a final gust of air escaped her nose. The doctors around paused their actions and turned towards the noise that indicated Liana's death.
