"You mean that?" Chan asked, trying hard not to react to the way the younger was holding him.

"I promise Hyung! I didn't mean what I said in that way.."

"It's okay, I believe you" he weakly smiled, Hyunjin noticing something off about that small smile, his own expression saddening.

He felt guilty for saying those words without thinking about what consequences they might have. Now he had unintentionally hurt the person he had only met today.

His hand moved up to the other's cheek, holding his face in his hand, "People probably spread rumors about you being a bad person, so everyone judges you before getting to know you, am I right?" He softly asked, watching as the boy's eyes became more glassy with each word he spoke out loud, as if he was reading Chan like an opened book.

On the spur of the moment, Chan's tears suddenly started breaking through the walls that were trying so hard to hold them back, making him cry right then and there as he looked deeply into Hyunjin hazelnut brown eyes that seemed to hold so much sincerity and honesty.

The older nodded timidly, feeling himself get weak. It wasn't easy, being judged based on rumors and your looks only. He was far more than that, however, he had never even talked about how this had been affecting him mentally. And now that someone was actually talking to him about it, he couldn't help but start crying.

"Oh Channie" Hyunjin whispered, pulling the other into a tight hug, his arms sliding down to his waist, holding him in a protective manner.

He smiled when he felt the older hug back, hiding his face in his neck from embarrassment and shame, not able to stop crying.

"Everything will be alright. I'm so sorry for asking you that question. I got to know who you truly are, and yet I still messed up. The reason I'm here with you isn't because you're well known, it's not because of your looks or the rumors, but because you've been so nice to me. You're kind and funny, you managed to make today really special for me and I want to thank you for that Chan"

Hyunjin kept rubbing up and down the other's waist as he spoke out what had been lingering in his mind this whole time. He could feel Chan nuzzling his face against his neck more and more, holding tighter onto the younger.

"Th-thank you.." was all Chan had managed to reply, feeling his stomach twisting and turning.

"You're welcome, it's just the way I'm truly feeling and don't want to hide that from you" Hyunjin answered after pulling away from the hug, his hands still holding the older at his hips.

Chan simply smiled, his hands also still around Hyunjin's neck, desperately looking into his eyes to find some kind of proof that his words really weren't a lie, like the words from many other people he had met in the past.

"O-oh s-sorry, I- I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable" Hyunjin suddenly snapped out of it, realizing how he was holding Chan and quickly let go.

The boy just weakly chuckled, his tears had come to an end as he grabbed a hold of the youngers hands and placed them back to where they were a few seconds ago "It's nice actually" he laughed, Hyunjin doing the same as he had said the same thing the last time they had hugged.

"Just stay like that for a bit" Chan whispered, humming when he felt Hyunjin give his hips a gentle squeeze.

Their bodies slowly and unintentionally leaned closer to each other, their eyes slowly fluttering close and heads tilting to the opposite side of one another.

For a moment, it felt like time had stopped and everyone else around them had disappeared. They could only sense the other one being so close and wanted them to be even closer.

Faces decorated with a red-pinkish blush as the distance between their lips decreased with every slowly passing second. A warm breeze of wind flying by, blowing their hair into all kinds of different directions, making this feel like some kind of romantic movie.

It wasn't sure who was teasing who, but they both seemed to have the idea of lightly grazing their lips over each other first.

The small sensation sent shockwaves of all kinds of feelings through their bodies, making them slightly smile into it, shivers running down their spines.

All of a sudden, the two boys flinched away from each other, opening their eyes in shock at the unexpected sound of Chan's phone ringing loudly.

He sighed and pulled it out of his pocket, it was Changbin, and he right away knew it was important.

"I'm so sorry, I have to take this, it's Changbin" he informed, his apologetic expression making it too clear that he was feeling bad for it.

"I-It's okay" Hyunjin answered, allowing Chan to take a few steps away for more privacy. The actual kiss, forgotten.

Once the older was a few meters away, he started to panic mentally and physically.

'I just almost kissed him. I literally almost kissed the actual Bang Chan'

A blush was still visible on his face as he brought his hand up, fingertips touching his lips, to somehow make himself believe that this had truly happened a few moments ago.

He was amazed at how different and fragile Chan was to how he had expected him to be. He wasn't mean or intimidating, more like a really kind person that's lost and in need of someone's support, attention and affection.

Though at the same time, he can be really teasing and dominant. It all confused Hyunjin, but he enjoyed how interesting Chan was.

Patiently waiting until the older finished talking on the phone, he couldn't help but overhear a few words.

"C'mon, Bin, it doesn't have to be true"

"Trust me, I'm sure Jisung isn't like that"

"I don't know him"

"Minho doesn't know, no"

Jisung? That Jisung? Were they talking about his best friend Jisung? What did Changbin have to do with Jisung? And what does Minho not know?

Sooner or later, Chan returned and apologized for how long he took.

"I'm really sorry about that. It's just my friend has a crush on this guy named Jisung, but Jisung seems to be more interested our other friend Minho. It's really complicated, but Changbin just called me since he was hurt after a conversation he and Jisung had."

Hyunjin spaced out.

Changbin? Having a crush on Jisung? Having a conversation with him? Jisung hurting Changbin?

What in the world was going on? Jisung never told him he was talking to one of the popular kids. What was he trying to do?

"Jinnie?"

"O-oh yeah, sorry" He snapped out of his endless thoughts once again, "I hope things go well for them" he smiled.

"I hope so too" he gave off one of his bright dimpled smiles, "now, shall we go back?"

Hyunjin tried to push all of his thoughts away and just enjoy the rest of the time with Chan. He'll ask Jisung about it later.

He gladly took the older's hand, and they started walking back to the dorms.
