Chapter 30: (Taking On Alone Journey)

(Third Person's P.O.V)

Once Queen Fiona and King Zayden arrive at their castle Zayden immediately takes her hand in his. He no longer had his typical goofy face, but the face of a serious, devoted, loving, attentive and empathic husband who was always aware of his wife's feelings, thoughts, moods, and emotions. And right now, ever since that meeting regarding Ezekiel, his wife seemed to be troubled.

"Alright, we're home now. What is it, sweetheart?" King Zayden asked, gently turning her around, so Queen Fiona was facing him.

Queen Fiona smiled lightly. "So, you noticed."

King Zayden gave her a slight frown. "Love, it's me. Of course, I always notice. I'm that over sensitive when it comes to you."

Queen Fiona's smile widened, she let out a short chuckle. "You were watching me then?"

King Zayden scrunched his face in disbelief. "Honey, are you being serious? Don't you know I always watch you? I always take a close observation of you, what you're thinking, what you're feeling and even the slight or smallest to big changes in your moods and emotions." He said with a matter of fact tone. He pouts his lips. "Wait, you should really know that by now."

Queen Fiona laughed. She raises her eyebrow in amusement. "You didn't look like you were watching me. You were pretty busy wrestling and goofing around with Valeo." Her tone was slightly teasing.

King Zayden shook his head placing his hands on her waist. "Sweetheart, I may not look like it, but I do always pay attention to you, whether you're looking or not looking at me. I admit, I might goof around sometimes but when it comes to you, I never fool around. Well, maybe I do sometimes but only to make you laugh and smile."

Queen Fiona's eyes softened, looking at him lovingly. She raised her arms and wrapped them around his neck, gently coaxing him to lean down which he did, fully wrapping his arms around her waist as well. Queen Fiona then gives him a sweet lingering kiss on the lips which King Zayden immediately returns, though he could feel his heart thumping in frenzy.

They pulled away after a moment. "I love you." She told him sincerely.

King Zayden felt his heart beat faster. He could feel the tip of his ears heating up. He leaned down his forehead affectionately against hers, smiling lovingly at her while looking at her intently. "I love you too." He responded earnestly. He drops one more kiss on her forehead causing Queen Fiona to close her eyes savoring the moment.

King Zayden pulls back. "Now, can you please tell me what's bothering you? Maybe I can help?"

Queen Fiona took a deep breath as she gave a small distance to their bodies but King Zayden didn't let her and shortly said, "Nah-ah. You can tell me like this."

Queen Fiona shakes her head but she lets him anyway. "I think Valeo is lying." She began.

King Zayden's brows furrowed. "Well, I did smell something fishy going on there but why do you think that? What did you think he lied about?"

Queen Fiona pulled away completely now as she walked out to the main balcony of the castle, looking at the overall snow wasteland of Domino. King Zayden followed her. "I don't know and I'm not entirely sure either. He may not be lying about adopting Ezekiel, but about him being an Ice Elementalist? I don't think it's possible." She replied.

King Zayden stared at Queen Fiona's bothered face. She looked so confused and lost. "Yeah, I know but maybe it's an incident we didn't know of?"

Queen Fion shakes her head. "No. I don't think that's it." She stared back at King Zayden. "Zayden, you know what really happened back then." She said, mentioning the Domino War.
