Ivy's POV
"Keep the change," I told the cab driver as I handed him some money for not only driving me, but for getting the bear in the car and getting it in the house for me.
He nodded and drove off as soon as I handed him the money.
I looked at the bear that sat in the doorway of the front door and sighed. Now I have to get it all the way up to my bedroom.
And on top of that my heels were killing my feet.
Mission: get the big stuffed animal up to my bedroom.
I slid the bear out of the doorway and kicked my heels off, setting my purse down next to them to get later.
After closing the front door behind me, I grabbed the stomach and slid it over to the tall stair case.
This was gonna be more hard than high school P.E.
I turned around and walked backwards up the stairs, holding onto the bear's stomach and dragging it up. It was then I realized the thing was heavier than I thought.
"Good grief, lay back on the stuffing at thanksgiving will you?" I spoke to the stuffed animal.
Before I knew it, I had gotten the thing up to the top of the stairs.
I groaned at the burning pain in my calves and flopped down on the bear that now laid on the floor.
"You alright Ms. Ivy?" One of the maids asked.
I sat up and found one of the maids with her cleaning tub in hand, looking at her.
"Yeah," I blushed.
Without anymore questions, the maid walked off to continue cleaning before Father got home.
I stood up and drug the thing into my bedroom, sat it in the corner, and flopped onto my fluffy mattress.
"Ms. Ivy?" Another maid spoke.
"Yes?" I sighed."Your cell phone was ringing so I answered it for you. It's a man by the name of Ben."
I sat up and quickly accepted my phone from the maid.
"Thanks," I mouthed to her.
She quietly left my room and shut my door behind me.
"Yes Ben?" I answered.
"I see you liked my gift," he chuckled."Ah yes, everything except I had to drag the brick up a huge staircase just to get it up to my bedroom."
"Don't you have maids to do stuff like that for you?"
"Yes, but their little twigs that would have the same amount of struggle as I would."
"Touché. So tell me, how much do you love me for the gifts?"
I laughed, "In your dreams."
"Ouch, I'm wounded by your words Ivy," he dramatically replied.
"I'm sorry," I chuckled.
"Alright, I better go. Mum is taking me to the country club with her and dad. Talk to you later."
"Wait," I suddenly said before he could hang up. "How did you get my cell phone number?"
The line was silent before he said, "I have my ways. See you later Ivy."
•••"What's with the big teddy bear in your bedroom?" Penny asked as we sat at the dinner table.
"Oh," I swallowed my bite of food. "My boss's son, Ben, brought into work for me today."
"Is he cute?" Penny wiggled her eyebrows.
"Penny," Ana scolded her
"I don't see him like that," I shook my head. "We're just friends."
"Can I have him then?"
"Penny, that's enough," Ana shook her head at her.Penny pouted and leaned back in her seat like a little two year old who was told no more candy.
"I remember Ben, quite a nice young man. Around your age I believe."
I nodded, "He's a CEO for some business in Birmingham."
"His father said something about that," Father commented.
"We should invite him for dinner while he's here in London," Ana suggested.
"Oh no-" I tried to reply but was cut off by Father.
"That's a wonderful idea."
